Branson 2800h
Model Year: 2012

For some reason, TBN seems to believe that Branson tractors are all "discontinued" models. I just bought a 2800h (HST) so apparently Branson is still in business and making the model. As for using the tractor, I can't say that I've done much other than move a little snow, but so far the only issue I've seen is that the differential lock is operated with the same foot as the hydrostatic drive. It's a little difficult to hold the diff lock pedal down with my heel while holding the tractor drive with my toes. Other than that, so far, it seems to be put together well, enough power to pull (except on ice) and seems to be able to do what I bought it to do (although I won't know that for sure until the snow melts).

Pros: Construction, fit/finish.
Cons: Defferential lock pedal location.

Compared all the colors, yellow, green and so on. Chose red/Branson (Kukje) for value, fit and finish. One main reason was the Cummins Turbo Diesel engine. Once I got it home, I found it to be well made, with good attention to detail. Not as heavy as my 9N, but, didn't expect it to be nor wanted it to be. Very maneuverable, easy to shift gears, good power and quiet. Does all that I have asked it to do, and it's comfortable to operate. Also has a 4 year warranty besides. Very pleased with this tractor.

Pros: Price point, finish quality, service accessibility, warranty.
Cons: So far no downside for me.

My First Tractor
Model Year: 2014

I bought the manual shift instead of the HST because it is one less thing to worry about. I had discussed this with several people and they say it is nice for getting in and out of places quicker, but when it goes out, it is a pain to work on or replace. They say it's like the difference between an automatic tranny and a manual tranny. I love mine. It has already proven to save my back with less back ache and sweat. I haven't had the problem with fluid leaking out of front axle, but then I haven't taken mine on the road. I have already looked into more implements. I need to add water to tires thought to and weight because when you load up the bucket with wet sand the rear end gets light and wants to tip to the front.

Pros: Strong enough to do what I need it to do.
Cons: Not as strong as a bigger tractor.

This is my first tractor. I love the Branson 2800 with SL00 loader it has been a back saver. The Kodiak Bush Hog helps to clear bottom land on my property in stead of what I had used which was a cheap push mower, chainsaw, and a sling blade. I am looking to buy a box blade or something of that nature.

Pros: Well made and has a lot of options that others don't.
Cons: Not as strong as a bigger tractor is but it does what I need it to.

I absolutely love this tractor, which is my third. I started with a 40hp 2WD Allis Chalmers that I couldn't keep running and a YM 2000 2WD with FEL. My little farm has some rough terrain that posed traction problems for my Yanmar (still, a great little tractor). I happened upon a 2013 Branson 2800 4WD with FEL for $9500 with only 9 hrs (previous owner died). I had the wheels filled with a water/anti-freeze mixture and immediately started work in the areas where I had traction problems; it was great. With the weighted wheels, I didn't even need to use a counterweight on the 3PH. Then, I hooked up a 5' bush hog and knocked down 3 acres of 4-6' tall grass in 1H gear; it didn't seem to notice. I thought about putting it in 2H but didn't because of the lack of visibility. Occasionally, I would hear the turbo kick in (I think) but other than that it didn't seem to even notice, and it sipped fuel. I had started out thinking I needed a larger frame tractor but given the hp and 4WD on this, I find that the maneuverability provided by the smaller footprint really works well, particularly in the wooded areas of my property. All in all, I am very happy this tractor; it is well built and does everything I need.

Pros: HP, fuel economy, build quality and small size
Cons: None noted yet
