Model year: 2014 Date Purchased: 2014-03-15 Number of Hours: 271

"It is currently at 271 hours and I am very happy with the purchase. Before buying I compared it to all of the other colors. There was no comparison when all the factors are compared. I love the big open station, placement of the fuel tank and turn radius. There was one small issue and it was handled promptly by the dealer under warranty. It starts great below zero, has plenty of power, and has 100% metal fenders and hood."

"I have put all 175 hours on it using blade, bucket and a backhoe. The only issue was the bucket joystick broke. One of the plastic balls inside broke (poor design). Was warranty and had no questions asked. Installed myself took a couple of hours to figure it out but was easy. I have moved some very large boulders and dug out 3 large tree stumps and have not had any issues. Very pleased. "

"First, the reason for the "3" Rating in Reliability is based more on the support from the Branson factory (or lack thereof) than anything else. Thank God for my dealer (Roger Fowler's Tractor Sales in Suffolk, VA; manager Todd Fowler). The "4" for value would have been "5" had it not sat 'in-op' for almost 2 months (additional details follow.). Overall, as one can gather from my otherwise high marks for the tractor, I genuinely like it. Other than a minor tweaking/adjustment issue upon first bringing it home (which was easily taken care of by Eric, Todd's mechanic) I've been very satisfied. Got good use out of the tractor (I'm a homeowner doing mostly landscaping, bush hogging & some woods cleaning after pines were thinned) until fall of this year when it "coughed up a lung" (fuel injector pump required replacement). This is where the factory really let me down, in my humble opinion (though in reading some other blogs I sense I'm not the only one by a long shot). After almost 7 weeks of having a shiny red Branson "yard ornament", my dealer (and I feel for the dealers---the good ones anyway and I know there are many) had to snatch one off a new tractor he had for sale on his lot, because not only would Branson not come through with the part, they couldn't/wouldn't say when one would be available. In talking with various customers (and even some dealers throughout the South) the prevailing opinion is that Branson uses all the major components they can get their hands on, on their assembly line(s) and the heck with the customer who already bought a tractor but needs certain repair parts. I wouldn't try to talk anyone out of buying one (I've heard some horror stories on the green, blue and orange colored tractors, too) but I just can't, in good conscience, not bring this important fact to light."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Comfort; conveniently placed controls (my 5' tall wife can handle it); powerful; stout frame; good looking. Cons: Needs a water separator (and preferrably a filter in the fuel line between the tank and the fuel/lift pump. While these can be had in any auto parts store, I think one engineered and 'blessed' by Branson would be preferrable, since pressures/flows are affected by filter mesh sizes, diameters, etc. Agree with others on the instrument panel dirt infiltration issue. I wish Branson (or someone) would update & clarify the various repair manuals being sold on the aftermarket (big $$!). "Finally received my new Branson 3120R. After about 3 months of waiting to just get the backhoe for it before it was delivered. I'm not sure why it took so long. Could be that Branson puts the smaller dealers after the large ones---not sure. Shipments of the backhoes kept getting sent to other places after my dealer was told they are on the way. Then the truck it an bull elk...what next? Got it (backhoe) and only got to use it one time for about 1 hour and then the weather turned cold (-2 deg as I write this review). Love it so far, think I got a good deal. Will use it when I can and will update this review then. "

"This is the first tractor I've ever owned. I picked it up after looking at quite a few different brands. Was avoiding Chinese crap and this Branson, feature-wise for the price, stood well above the others I looked at. I paid $17K, $22k after tax. I looked at Kubota, Kioti, Bobcat, New Holland, John Deere, and Cub Cadet. I bought this machine from Scott at http://www.hobbytractors.com in Pleasant Grove, UT. Unfortunately the closest Branson dealer, about 35 miles away. Probably the only honest salesman in Utah. Would definitely do business there again. I use this tractor mainly up at my cabin site which 20+ acres in the clay and rock. The only complaints I have about the tractor are that the loader control lacks smoothness and the 4x4 cannot be locked in and it's really not 4x4. The two rear tires turn together but the fronts only turn one or the other depending on its mood. When I first picked up the machine I used it for a weekend and after about 15 hours the loader began to move very slowly. I looked at the hydraulic site glass and the fluid appeared milky. I took it back to Hobby Tractors and dropped it off. Scott called me back few hours later and told me it was fixed. Somehow the fluid became contaminated. He also adjusted the loader control. Apparently a cable had too tight of a radius. The loader control is still not real smooth but works better. Have not had any more hydraulic problems For the money none of the others even come close to loader power. To get a Kubota which can hoist 2100 lbs would have cost me $10k more than I paid for the Branson. The clay dirt where I use this tractor is slime when wet, fine dust when dry, and packs super hard after the rains have hit it. I can put the digging edge of the bucket into the ground, push it forward and roll the bucket up and it will fill the bucket with dirt, (11.3 CF, just shy of 1/2 a yard), and hoist it like the bucket is empty. This machine is rated at 32 hp. I bought a box blade for it from King Kutter. Couldn't find a used 72 incher so had to buy new. I paid $899 for the heavy duty version rated up to a 45 hp tractor. Let me tell you anything above 31 hp must be too much for it. The front edge above the front of the rippers needs a piece of metal welded to it like the bottom has. If you hit something hard the rippers strike the front of the box and bends the front edge out. That is in 1st gear, low range, so about 1/10th mph. Tried to contact King Kutter numerous times by email and phone. Have had no response. The tractor is 72" wide. The air seat makes the machine ride nicely over rock and uneven ground. The turning radius is amazing especially if you hold the brake on the inside tire. The axles are thick and solid. The machine has a well built sturdy feel to it. I worked with heavy equipment for quite a few years at the Kennecott Copper mine and know the limitation of machines is usually weight. This tractor is heavier than others for the price in its class but the 6' box blade can fill with dirt quickly and the tires will dig in and break loose. There is no lack of power so I fill the bucket sometimes full with dirt and rock and it will pull the box blade a little better. Again no problem with power. It will just break the tires loose. I have not filled the tires yet but will when money is right. That should make a difference I'm told. So far extremely happy with the tractor. I've built 2 sections of road, about 1200 ft. long, done some driveway prep for my neighbor (90' x 30' super hard clay/rock. So hard a fully loaded 9 yard cement truck didn't even leave a tire mark. The Branson didn't flinch), I cleared out a section of trees and raised a 100' x 80' area for a camp site, and pushed over a 30' tall 25" base, half dead pinion pine just for fun. Not too much of a problem for the Branson. Took about 2 minutes of pushing. Oh and smashed some rain gutter on my neighbors house without feeling it. Whoops! It holds 10 gallons of fuel and runs all weekend on that with fuel to spare. I usually run it about 1900 rpm. That seems to work great. love this machine and would buy it again."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Well built, sturdy feel, good power, reliably starting down to 0 degree weather, 2 year bumper to bumper warranty, handy little tool drawer on the side, easy to access engine, battery, pump, etc. Cons: Dash components seem a little cheap, 4x4 not really 4x4, loader control not real smooth. "Picked up a Branson 3120R with a FEL and 860 backhoe. LOVE the quick release on the loader for switching between the bucket, 7' snow blade or the pallet forks. I live in really rocky country and was concerned about the ability of this backhoe to do what I needed (as compared to my old full size JD). So far, I have yet to run into a boulder that I needed to dig up that it couldn't get out (the largest so far was about 4.5' long and 2.5' across). I had read many reviews with respect to how much HP is enough on a tractor this size. Not much of an issue for me as the only thing I would run off the PTO might be a post hole digger. After 50 hours of dirt work, I have not wished for more HP. In fact, I usually run it at 1900RPM and that gives me plenty of power while running forever on a 10 gallon tank of fuel. I love the steel construction, which translates to plenty of weight. I love the ergonomics, the heavy drivetrain and the overall value! After shopping the Cub Cadet and John Deere series, the purchase was a no brainier for me. I would also recommend checking your dealers prices on filters etc, I have found mine to be a bit cheaper on the OEM stuff than NAPA etc. Surprised me for sure!"

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Weight, all the additional steel, ergonomics, heavy duty drivetrain (same as the 50HP), cost. Cons: Instrument cluster and light switch are plastic, have had dirt intrusion in the cluster so bad that I couldn't read it. Branson replaced it. 2nd one is better but it is still getting dirt inside. Not good for the long haul. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA WA I also considered buying:
