"Cut my mowing to one half the time until after 200+ hours then left side won't pull as well after mower warms up."
"If this mower is like the other 3 big tractors & the 3 mowers and other attachments---brush hogs, wheel disks, cultivators, plows---I've owned, I'll buy the International line again if need to."
"All in all the mower runs great. But I am very disappointed with the mower deck and its ability to cut grass. I have tried every type of blade that I know of. I have had the deck checked and leveled by the dealership and the cut quality is still in my opinion that of poor quality. You have to usually cut the grass twice to get all the grass cut. I cut at a higher length and to me the deck does not provide a good vacuum for the blades to pull the grass up and cut evenly. I have tried to find a smaller deck pully to increase the blade tip speed but I have not had any luck. So I guess I will continue to cut my grass twice to achieve a uniform cut."
"After doing a fair amount of shopping, I narrowed by selection down to the Cub Cadet primarily because CC used the Kawasaki engine that has a proven durability record. The unit does what it is suppose to do and does it in half the time compared to my J-D 46" tractor. So far no issues with the mower and I am more than satisfied."
"This type don't cut the grass very good at all. you must keep the blades sharp at all times or it will leave grass standing. Bad decks. Junk transaxles made by Hydro-Gear. "
"Just as with hundreds of others, the left side drive transmission has gone out. The company will not do anything to repair. A factory defect that they know about, but will not fix or admit it is there problem. Avoid MTD, Cub Cadet etc. same company makes them all."
"I have had my RZT 50 for about 4 seasons now. I bought it as a reconditioned return. I got a good deal on the price and really needed a more reliable mower. I maintain this machine well, but I do not baby it at all. The turf that I cut would do much better with a commercial grade mower, however, this mower does well mechanically. Any gripes that I have are minor. The front tires are too small for my yard and are easily flattened and unseated from the rims. I have added tubes to correct this. The starting system needs to be re-engineered. The wires are too small and need to be upgraded to automotive grade 4 gauge wires. I also replaced the starter solenoid with a Ford type (bolts right in place of the original). You will however have to change the wire ends to accommodate the larger posts. I fault those small gauge wires for prematurely burning up my starter motor by not carrying the current load. I also do not understand why grease zerks are used on the deck spindles, since the bearings are sealed. Applying grease there does not in any way lubricate the bearings. Perhaps it is an engineering throw back to a time when Cub Cadet did not use sealed bearings. Other than these caveats, the mower is great. I would recommend this machine to anyone."
"i bought this in June and I use to mow over 20 lawns - some as large as 3 acres. It cut my mowing time in half. I have had a few small issues with deck gauge wheel brackets bending. I had to weld gussets on them. One drawback is no mowing in reverse. I will have to bypass switches. Otherwise this is a good machine - very fast, maneuverable, and pretty well built. The v twin Briggs runs great and is pretty good on gas."
