One Of The Best Tractors I Have Ever Used/Owned

"Hello my name is Dan and I own a IH Cub Cadet 1650, which in my opinion, is one of the best tractors ever built. I have have little to no trouble with the tractor over all. The 1650 has been one of my hardest working tractors as of late. It came with a 44" deck and engine had been bored .30 thousands over. The hydro lift is strong and very reliable. I have been known to cut yards grown over the hood height without any bogging down or power loss. This tractor has used my belly mount sickle bar mower and has been used to cut small fields with no issues, in addition to using my Brinley plow and box blade from time to time. I have modified this tractor to fit my needs but with respect to IH engineering and it can be reset into factory appearances. The only thing I don't like is that it needs new paint and decals."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Strongest tractor I have ever owned Cons: Needs paint and decals with some normal TLC Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA TN I also considered buying:

"This tractor is more than a tool, it is fun to use. I do not know why the older Cub Cadets are not listed under I.H. but they do not belong with today's Cub Cadets. I have a "modern" MTD Cub Cadet Model 1000 that I just purchased and although it is a great machine it is not even in the same class as my old 1650. The new one is not even comfortable to drive. Both machines are "hydro" transmissions but in terms of comfort and what they can do I would put my money on the older model."

Pros: Build like a tank. Cons: You really have to shop to find parts & accessories. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA MA I also considered buying:

Model year: 1976 Date Purchased: 1994-05-10 Number of Hours: 100

"In 1994, while living in the mid-west, my wife and I purchased a home with approx. 1.3 acres of land. The yard was larger than what I wanted to mow with a walk behind mower. I searched for a riding mower/lawn tractor and settled on the 18 yr. old Cub Cadet 1650. In 2000, we moved to Florida and have only 1/2 acre. We brought the Cub along even though it is overkill. I figured it would not bring much if I tried to sell it in 2000. When purchased, the Cub was equipped with a 42" mower deck, a front end blade, and a snow thrower. Now I have only the mower deck. The Cub has towed a "1/2-ton pickup truck bed trailer" loaded quite heavily with soil, lumber and concrete with no fussing and no apparent strain on it. It is still going strong, and is mostly all original including the paint. The engine and hydro transmission are still in super working condition. Aside from normal periodic maintenance, I've replaced ignition points and plugs, transmission fluid and filter, tie rod ends, and the seat. Earlier this year, I experienced intermittent electrical failures. After getting a wiring diagram and trying to troubleshoot the system, it has not failed again--perhaps wiggling wiring or checking connections for tightness corrected the problem temporarily."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Very well designed and built---great frame. Very reliable. Powerful. Cons: The mower does not cut as cleanly as some others, e.g. a Bolens I had. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA FL I also considered buying:
