"I had a 1975 Ford 3000. It was okay, but I wanted 4WD and a FEL. I got (what I thought) was a great deal on a low hour machine that was pretty much identical to a 3000. I expected the local Farmtrac dealer in New Alexandria, PA would service it even though I didn't buy it there. They won't touch it. :-( (Ask me to review that dirt bag dealer, no farmer that I've talk to around here has anything good to say about that shop). Shortly after 50 hours it quit running. I went on to discover it blew a head gasket! What made matters worse was that Farmtrac went bankrupt a week after I bought it so I couldn't get any warranty help. I got it fixed on my own dime and thought everything was good, until the head gasket blew out a 2nd time less than 100 hours later! The 2nd fix seems to be holding up. Other issues are a sticking cold-start solenoid, which may or may not have had something to do with timing issues that caused the gaskets blowing? Don't know. The tractor is also a bit leaky. Seals, gaskets, etc. FEL is slow lifting, dumping and tilting, but strong---3,500 lb lift capacity. Other than that it's a great machine (sarcasm). I own it and I guess I'll keep it, but buying it was the worst decision I've ever made. "

"I am a 100% city boy. This is my first tractor. We cleared 147 acres which would have been much more difficult without this tractor and its front end loader. My dealer told me he sold tractors to two kinds; those that initially got a front end loader and those that came back and came back and got a front end loader."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Good old "Ford" tractor with years of reliability behind it. Cons: Company went bankrupt. Future availability of parts? Type of User: Homeowner 100+ Acres Location: USA TX I also considered buying:

"I am just a city boy playing farmer. This is my first tractor; using it mainly to clear downed trees, some dirt work and shredding. My neighbor has used it for the front end loader.I was set to buy a smaller "utility size" tractor, but for a few dollars more I felt I was able to purchase a lot more machine. When I had a front tire flat, I told my neighbor how hard it was to jack up the front end. He asked why I didn't use the front end loader to raise the wheel. I answered because I am a city boy and didn't think of it!"

Pros: It does what I need for it to do. Cons: Hope to be able to get replacement parts in the future Type of User: Homeowner 100+ Acres Location: USA TX I also considered buying:
