"I have had this tractor for 24 years now. It came with the house and I would not know what to do without it. It is the right size for many things. As soon as I bought it, I purchased a loader for it which has also been invaluable. I use it for grading, landscaping, mowing (rough and finish cut), lifting, dirt handling, garden tilling, raised bed creation, work platform, mowing and raking hay, moving things, plowing snow, etc. I have FWA with diamond tread high flotation rear tires and R4 front tires. I have never been stuck and I do not make tracks even on a wet lawn. It has been to the shop once since I have had it. It failed to start for me one time at -20 Fahrenheit (a rare temperature for our area). Negatives - I wish it had a little more hydraulic flow so the loader would be a little faster. A more standard drawbar would also be nice for pull type power take-off implements. All of my kids have learned to drive on it."
"I bought a tractor for all-round use clearing, snow plowing, etc and it has really done a good job so far. It had a couple seals leaking from sitting in the barn for a long time (easy fixes). It start's easy and runs super smooth. I hope for another 30 years out of it. "
"I bought the tractor from a neighbor with a front loader, single power take-off plow, flail mower and rake. It has a lot of use but runs great. It has a few details I have to work out but I can't wait to get on it again."
"I bought his machine from a used equipment dealer to replace the 1620 lost in a barn fire. It has a little age on it (27 yrs), is old enough to have a few maintenance issues now, but is quite good enough to keep fixing. I really like the tractor. The little 3-cyl diesel seems to have a lot of power, turn radius is good for tight spots, 4WD speaks for itself and the 3+R primary shift and 4-sp secondary one provides more options than this little machine really needs. Land Pride bush hog & finishing mowers and a scraper blade make it very useful. I do wish it had a hydraulic tap. If it did, I'd sell my old International 340 utility, but that's another story."
"3 cylinder diesel with 4x4 and front bucket and bush hog. Bought very used. Front power steering seal kept blowing and clutch in need of repair. I adjusted the clutch and replaced o-rings in diverter. The hydraulic hoses were cracking and joints in need of grease. I've learned a lot about these tractors except how to stop the o-ring from blowing. Keep researching and finally found a solution. However it will cost another $300.00. My just keep doing. Don't use it a lot, but it will do whatever I need done. My last tractor wouldn't lift much weight in the front bucket. This is a great tractor. Just remembering it is just a small tractor. I've pulled stumps, cleared brush, pushed over some pretty large stumps, moved my 300 gallon LP tank. I am not saying I haven't had a few issues, but nothing I can't fix except o-ring issue...and still working on that. Someday I believe I will get a solution for that too. "
"This tractor has served my needs for the past 12 yrs. Used it to bush hog & mow---nothing very brushy---mostly pasture. Hooked a tiller & discs & middle buster to it for my garden every year, and use a box blade frequently, for different projects. Never had any major issues with it, but I kept the filters changed yearly. I have enjoyed using this tractor and have no plans to replace it."
"Our purchase, which hopefully won't turn into a regret, was sight unseen other than some photos and description on the internet. This tractor had the hp, 4wd, FEL, relatively low hours that I was looking for at an affordable price. It starts fine, runs fine. Hydraulics work fine, hold pressure, and are responsive. I'm gathering the filters, oil, etc. to replace everything from scratch, but as this is my first tractor, I'm having some trouble knowing my way around a diesel engine and hydraulics. So far I'm very happy with the purchase. There is some serious rust of the radiator support, probably from salt and weather during it's life in PA but also looks like the radiator leaked at one point and wasn't attended to. I have a friend that is very knowledgeable about tractors, so he's a big help. And I look forward to the resources and knowledge that I find on TBN. Thanks so much, in advance."
"I bought the tractor with the house and property in 1993 so the tractor was about ten years old. I almost immediately put an FEL on it and use it on a regular basis for just about everything. It is just the right size so that it does not tear up the lawn or leave indentations even when wet but it has enough power that I have skidded 30" hardwood logs, graded hillsides, and mowed with a Bush Hog stuff that was taller than the tractor. I have what may seem to be an odd combination of turf tires on the rear and industrials on the front but they work very well together for the many uses. I use it with a 5' finish mower, 5' Bush Hog, 60" garden tiller, 7' sickle bar mower, 6' landscape rake, 6' blade, 5' box blade and many other implements that I have borrowed over the years. Trouble virtually none other than self-inflicted such as fuel line gel or running out of fuel. I have had both front axle drops leak,an internal hydraulic leak and a muffler rust out but that is all I have had to repair. I have used it for landscaping of all types, garden tilling, mowing, wood cutting and hauling, digging, moving things around, cleaning out barns, driveway grading, snow removal, log skidding, and even backing into my pond with the landscape rake to drag weeds out (up to 30" deep). It is very easy on fuel, handy on and off, reliable, easy to drive, decent hydraulics, and fully functional with good weight distribution. My wish list for it would be to have a live PTO and a little higher top end (about 11.5 mph)."
"We purchased this tractor to help with our truck farm operation in 1987. It was a great addition to our equipment. 4WD is a definite plus for this tractor. "
"Bought the tractor with the property. A km of steep eroding road, snow removal wood hauling etc. taxes the 3 cyl. engine, but it's a hard working reliable machine."
