"I have 3 tractors and have owned many other makes over the last 40 years of farming. My 2 Ford compacts are amazing tractors. They just keep on ticking and never let you down. - Wolf"
"My gut told me to walk away when I bought this tractor but I bought anyway. Typical Ford fix and repair daily, parts are expensive and now hard to come by as New Holland doesn't support."
"This tractor has been a good investment for my landscape business. It is equipped with a 776B loader. The half yard bucket on the loader is nice for moving large amounts of material fast, and the lift capacity is excellent if you have enough weight on the rear end. I run a variety of 3 point implements including an Arps 105 (10 ft) backhoe, 6ft gill, york rake, box blade and disc, post hole digger. The backhoe is plumbed into the tractor hydraulics and has excellent power. The tractor is very maneuverable and has a gear for just about anything you want to do. The syncroshift transmission works very well with the loader. The 4wd makes the tractor almost unstoppable on any surface."
"My late uncle put most of the hours on this tractor. I have only had it for a year but it is my favorite tractor (of 4) to drive. I use it to rake and bale about 60 acres. It also has a removable FEL. This tractor has been very reliable for me. I love its maneuverability as it can turn on a dime. With 12F and 4R there is a gear for every task and it can operate a NH 311 Baler with ease. The throttle design is poor. I like to be able to shut the RPMs down as low as possible when idling or starting the PTO. On this tractor the throttle is used to shut down the tractor so you are always trying to find the line between low idle and shut down. The fuel shut off and throttle should never have been combined. The 4610 has a much better system. Shifting to and from 4 WD is difficult at times but this could be a result of lack of use over the years. Another problem is the stabilizers are difficult to adjust. I would recommend this tractor for smaller operations despite the problems."
"1983 that I bought used with 2600 hours in 1998. A work horse. Was told that it was too big for use in foothills, but I play it safe. The power and weight make it do any thing I need. The FEL also can handle more. Can't make the turns my little 1710 will do, small price to pay for extra work it can do. "
