"Excellent tractor for its age. The tractor has been in our family for 46 years and is used regularly for bush hogging fields and running a chipper for mulch. The maintenance is rather high on a tractor this old,but as long it gets done in a timely manner, everything works okay."
"I own a home on 20 acres and couldn't keep my maintenance up without my Ford 2000 diesel tractor. I bought it with the acreage from the owner who had purchased it new in 1967 and was then retiring to the city. I would be unable to maintain this property without this little gem of a tractor. I have several attachments for it: 6` rotary tiller, 5` mower, cultivator, post hole digger, and a snow blade. This unit starts 1st click and goes & goes like the energizer bunny. We recently had a blizzard and I had to dig it out to clean my yard & driveway so I could get out. It had been sitting idle for nearly 3 months. I plugged it in for 2 hrs as it was -18 degrees and it started 1st click! It is also very economical on diesel fuel as it goes forever on 5 gallons of fuel. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tractor."
"Okay, so let me open with full disclosure that I am a new owner in the honeymoon phase with my first tractor larger than a riding mower. Also, I am "just for fun" tractor owner, so I don't depend on this thing for a living. That being said, I bought the Blue Ox for $2,500 from a second owner who seemed reluctant to sell it but couldn't justify owning it and a new Kubota with a loader and finish mower. He threw in a back blade, a sand bucket and a shop manual. I have since purchased a 5' brush hog and tire chains for the turf tires that came with it and a new seat. I am amazed with the ability of this machine to pull 20" x 20' ash logs out of the woods with a tow strap. I have used the blade and rotary mower to cut two tracks and shooting lanes for hunting. I try not to use it a lot below thirty two degrees. The tractor always starts and runs fine, I just find my teeth get cold at that temperature because I'm always smiling when using it. Some things I'd like to add are a 72" tiller, PTO override clutch, ROPS and eventually a FEL. One of the cons is that the power steering cylinders are broken and $200 each to replace. I have not regretted buying this tractor and feel that the second generation Ford 2000 is a much better value than similar sized Fords from the pre-1964 era."
"Tractor is used mainly to pull 5ft bushog. Will pull 2 16" bottom plows without stumbling. Very maneuverable."
"Good solid unit. Easy to operate. Live PTO is a plus."
"WellI am a tractor newb. I purchased a '67 Ford 2000. Tractor seems to run real good. Tach does not work. Was leaking hydraulic fluid from brake pedal cross shaft. Shaft wore out. Leaks diesel from bad hoses and filter. Starter doesn't start tractor consistently. Overall the tractor is in good shape, shifts fine, hydraulics work good, and runs good. The items listed are just items that have been neglected over the last I'd say 10 years. I have changed seals, pedal bushings, cross shaft, and fluid in rearend. Now onto the diesel leaks and starter. After that it will be real minor things. More like quirks, tach not working, and like no lights at all. Plan to use this tractor at our family hunting property."
"Good tractor. I have had it for several years and it has performed as I expected."
"This was purchased used in 1967 for gardening and general prupose around the farm. In 1981 it was used for farming on 15 acres until 1996 when the acreage went back to 5. Now basically it is used for bush and mowing around the place."
"I bought this 47 year old tractor mainly because I needed an FEL. It came with a Superior FEL with a bucket too big for the tractor and boy do I overload it - to the point of teetering on the front wheels even with filled rear tires---very bad idea---I don't do that any more! The tractor starts hot or cold, runs like a champ, burns no oil and needs only one repair - the power steering fluid boils out after a half hour of driving. Very good, easy to maintain tractor."
