"I found a 2011 GTH27V52LS tractor for sale from a landscaper who had switched to all ZTR mowers. He had owned the unit for 1 1/2 years and only put 38 hours on it, he sold it to me for $1500. With my first mowing experience I mowed the backyard of a house in town with a 3/4 acre lot. With my old 42" 14hp Craftsman it took me a little over and hour to mow this yard. With the new Husqvarna I did it in 28 minutes, and the yard looked like a golf course when I was done. I found the mower comfortable, easy to steer, relatively quiet, and fast. Mowing my yard at the farm, about 1 1/2 acres, the mower performed flawlessly and the time was almost half or what it took with my old mower. After reading so much about failing hydro transmissions I went to the dealer to find out how to change the oil in the transmission. I was told that the unit was "factory sealed" and was made to last as long as the tractor. What a crock! I did some investigation and found That my transmission had a spin-on type filter and was indeed serviceable. The factory recommends oil change after 100 hours and after every 400 hours thereafter. I feel that with this unit the only thing lacking is a knowledgeable dealer who is not too lazy to learn about the products he sells."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Model year: 2011 Date Purchased: 2011-08-01 Number of Hours: 100

"This is my first tractor. I needed something to mow 4 acres plus snow blow a 1000 foot driveway. I also use a box scraper to grade a small gravel service road to my barn. This tractor was a cost effective solution to my needs. So far, after a 100 hours it has performed very well, and is very easy on gas."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Serviceable hydro gear transmission, Kawasaki engine, fabricated mower deck. Cons: Poor design on drive belt mechanism causes rattle. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA MI I also considered buying: Cub Cadet GT2554, John Deere 317

Best Garden Tractor, $3k and Under, I've Found to Date

"Without knowing how well someone has taken care of their used JD or Kubota, and my budget being $3k for a new tractor, the only Kawasaki powered (26HP), HD hydro equipped (Hyro-Gear's G730), and with a fabricated HD deck (vs. stamped), was this model from Husky. While I've only had 10 hours of use with this machine, I'm extremely impressed and can't see why someone would spend a minimum of twice what I paid for the "equivalent" JD or Kubota. The sleeve hitch is pretty darn tough and I've also purchased the rock rake from Agrifab which works wonderfully grooming trails in the woods for my kids' go karts. Excellent value, built pretty darn tough, avoid the Husky's at the big box stores and find your local Husky dealer as they are the only source for this model. Steve Loftis in Ozark MO. was great to work with! Other Husky's cut corners that Lowes & HD carry (motor & mower deck & hydro)."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Fabricated HD deck, HD hydro, Kawasaki powered. Cons: Deck could be engineered a little easier to install and remove, would like to have seen the frame a little thicker. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA MO I also considered buying: John Deere D170
