"When I bought this tractor, I bought it on a lark as I already had a good working tractor, but I have to say that this tractor has moved up to the number one spot on my farm. It is without a doubt the best piece of equipment I have ever owned. Their is not a day that I don't use this great machine. I can't brag on it enough. The dependability, ease of operation, and it is just a joy to run. Would not hesitate to buy it again"

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Easy to operate, very strong engine Cons: Lift could be a little stronger Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA NC I also considered buying:

"I have owned my 3203 for about 6 months. Only mechanical issue I have had is that the fuel gauge doesn't seem to work very well. Only shows fuel when tank is over half full. I like the mechanical hydro over e-hydro overall, but mechanical hydro doesn't have cruise control which is a bummer when mowing acreage. "

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Good no frills tractor for the money. Cons: No cruise control. 3pt control doesn't have locking height adjustment Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA MO I also considered buying:

"I live on ten acres of hillside property in SE Tennessee (mountain area) and this little tractor has been a lifesaver. The tractor is equipped with a JD 300SX front end loader and has both a bucket and grapple attachments. Other attachments that are used on regular basis are three point box blade, trailer hitch receiver, hole auger, and boom pole. Tractor still starts with a flick of the ignition switch and runs as well as any new machine. Living in the SE TN mountains the tractor gets a workout keeping trails clear, digging fence holes, clearing land, moving down trees, and moving nice size rocks. The only thing I don't like about the tractor is all the plastic parts. But on the plus side the plastic parts don't rust or dent."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Reliable little work horse, no mechanical problems since bought. Cons: Plastic body parts. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA TN I also considered buying:

"Purchased this tractor primarily for mowing and loading. Has done an excellent job with both a 60 inch finish mower and a 60 inch rotary cutter, mowing approximately 15 acres on a regular basis. Maintenance has been no issue. Have also used for plowing and discing food plots. Can pull a two bottom plow with minimal issues. This model did not come with rear hydraulics as an option. Which in hindsight does limit uses."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Excellent value for large scale mowing. Cons: Not all of the options as the other 32 hp John Deere models. Type of User: Homeowner 50-100 Acres Location: USA NY I also considered buying:

"I have used my 4 wheel 3203 for five years, I raise cattle on my small 60 acre ranch. This is the safest, most reliable tractor I have ever owned. I had a Kubota before I owned this tractor, the Kub was okay, but too small, I needed a compact because I work between a lot of trees and timber, The tractor is nimble, always starts, runs great, and will pick up a 1500 pound bale of hay with ease with the rear three point hitch. The transmission works flawlessly, and if you shift this machine into low, revive the Yanmar to max., it will climb a telephone pole, great torque out of the engine. I give it a 5."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Great torque, always starts, & great handling. Cons: Too small for really big jobs. Type of User: Homeowner 50-100 Acres Location: USA TX I also considered buying:

John Deere 3203 with 300 loader

"This 3203 replaced an old Ford 8N. Of course this is a HUGE improvement and at a very reasonable price! I don't need a fancy tractor with tons of power or features so the 3203 is perfect. After 300 hours it has done all that I need. It has never been underpowered or lacking any features for my use. I clean a horse corral, move/stack hay bales, move dirt and firewood. I've dug up trees, harrowed pasture, and moved lots of snow. It is so maneuverable that I often use it as a powered wheelbarrow. The hydro trans is wonderful, so is the 4x4 and power steering. Although some would want a stronger loader than the 300 I've not once needed it. I've let a few people I trust use it and it has done what they need, nothing but compliments on it's ease of use and suitability for horse property owners."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Very easy to use. Three women have used it proficiently without any prior tractor experience. Great in deep snow and starts well at 10 below. Nothing has broke or worn-out. Cons: No cons for me...except the crap battery ( I put in a better, larger Autolite.) Some would want a stronger or higher lifting loader, and remote hydraulics, for $2,500 more you can get that with the next model up. "We live on 9 acres, and after searching the internet for literally months, I was able to drive several models of JD compact tractors. The 3203 seemed to fit me well and offer all the features that I would need. The 4WD hydro tranny was a "luxury" feature that I would not hesitate to add on my next JD.The Yanmar diesel works superbly with its easy starts in cold weather and excellent fuel efficiency. I purchased the tractor with the 300 series loader, I-Match system, Frontier 60" Brushhog, and Frontier 60" Boxblade. The I-Match feature works like a dream; you just back up to an implement lift and then flip a few levers, which you can reach from your seat. I've used my tractor to clear snow on my 1000+ft driveway, tear apart a burn pile, clear trees/brush in 5 acres, build a bridge, dig out large rocks, and currently using it to build a barn. I did have to take it in for some service on the 3-point lift. It seems that the factory/dealer didn't tighten the plate enough and the 3-pt was looking power/pressure. We have a network of dealers within 100 miles and they repaired everything and performed the routine annual service needed within 3 days and delivered it back to my doorstep. I would definitely consider this tractor again for my small farm/acreage!!!"

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: lots of power, great efficiency, excellent value, user friendly, comfortable, Cons: wish loader had more capacity Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA OK I also considered buying: Mahindra 3525

John Deere 3203 utility tractor

Model year: 2007 Date Purchased: 2008-03-29 Number of Hours: 187

"I purchased this tractor because I was looking for a plain, no thrills Hydro utility tractor. I didn't need all the fancy electronic features that the other models had. I purchased it with the 300CX loader and a Woods 70X backhoe (sub frame mount). This machine handles them very well. The 32hp Yanmar diesel is a bit loud, but is a real performer, and very fuel efficient. The four wheel drive is very effective, would not own one without it. As for the transmission, the only way to go is a hydro! Being able to vary your speed and torque output from the transmission is So beneficial compared to a gear transmission. Your always at the right speed for the given work conditions. Ive had this tractor for over two years and it has performed very well. Ive had no trouble with it, does what I need it to do."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Lots of power, very fuel efficient, Hydro is smooth and strong . Good fuel capacity, will run all day long on one tank of fuel. Controles are very user friendly. Cons: Flimsy hood, not so comfortable seat, Hydraulics not set high enough from factory, China tires, and loader castings Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA PA I also considered buying: John Deere Z425
