John Deere 455
Model Year: 2001
I've had more then a few John Deere Lawn & Garden tractors,But this one is fast becoming a favorite ,The Power of the Yanmar 3cyl. Diesel is Awesome and it sips fuel on top of that. Power steering is great--Turn it w/your finger. Just a Great Machine.
Pros: Lots
Cons: I really have not found any from my use of it.

Excellent John Deere 455
Model Year: 1999
JD 455 with JD 40 loader. I could not be happier. This is definitely the little tractor that could, and don't ever call it a lawn tractor. This is so much more than a riding lawn mower. I just added the loader and even without any ballast or wheel weights she's impressive. I would recommend this tractor to everyone.
Pros: Strong, powerful, well built., & sips diesel.
Cons: None.

JD 455 with JD 40 loader. I could not be happier. This is definitely the little tractor that could, and don't ever call it a lawn tractor. This is so much more than a riding lawn mower. Used John Deere 455
Model Year: 1996
Nice comfortable garden tractor. Lots of power for driving the 54 " mower and 44 " 2 stage snowblower. I have also adapted a 60 blade from a 4 wheeler to fit on the quick attach that normally lifts the snowblower, so I get hydraulic down pressure on the blade as well, when needed. Our property is 2+ acres, and this tractor fits our needs perfectly.The mower came with the mulching kit, and I can honestly say I would never have another mower without this kit. It works awesome and I have never had so many compliments on the look of our lawn since I purchased this tractor in 2009.
Pros: Strong, compact tractor, lots of power, perfect size, easy to get attachments on and off.
Cons: The power steering system on this tractor makes it very difficult to mow a really straight line.

My 455 has not had any issues until ... rough running and stalling after 10 mile trailer ride to another property. I checked out the forums on TractorByNet and found out what the problem(s) were. 1) plugged up fuel pump inlet strainer 2) in line fuse holder to fuel pump not handling any current Thanks for your input and help.

JD 455 60'' mower
Model Year: 1999
Cuts almost as fast as a zero turn, but a much nicer ride at speed. It fun to cut with it. - Good quality cut - Easy to service. - Deck goes on and off easily - Snow blade easy to attach. - rops would be nice, as would 4 wheel steering. Get It if you can. - Quieter that a similar sized Kubota diesel, and not much louder than a 23 hp Kawasaki. - A well cared for 4x5 is a good value for your dollar.
Pros: A refined, quality estate mower.
Cons: Manuverability.

Model Year: 1998
Moved up from my THREE JD model 332 diesels. Similiar size (16HP) to a new 22HP Yanmar diesel. Best improvement is the ease of using the foot controlled hydrostatic, when combined with either a blade or snowblower, not having to steer, control the hydrostatic and turn the blower chute and raise the blower ALL with two hands. Miss the more classic look of the 332 and the built like a tank construction of the 332.Nothing compares to metal versus the plastics that all the newer garden tractors are coming out with.
Pros: Love the Yanmar diesel, finally a foot controlled hydrostatic.
Cons: Prefer the metal bodies of the 332s to the newer plastic components.

Just a great lawn & garden tractor, built to last and do what you want it to. Runs great with the Yammar 22hp Diesel and runs for a long time on a tank of fuel. Power steering is sweet on it. The hydro trans is great and with the traction lock. It will go right along for most part in about anything. Deck mows good and Not all that hard to take off and on and the shaft drive is so much better then the belts, I think. The 4 years I have had it now---It's never failed me. I have a feeling it will be going long after I'm not!
Pros: Built solid, easy to operate, good on fuel, good resale.
Cons: Cost, attachments don't come cheap either.
