"I bought the tractor for light farm use including large hay bale feeding and minor dirt work. I've been mostly pleased but the tractor is poorly designed due to needing weight in the rear end. I've added a couple sets of wheel weights and will probably add liquid to the tires. I've been told by the dealer to add a weight box but for a $60,000 package I don't think I should have to be adding weight. After about 100 hours I had a problem with the brakes and at about 200 hours there is an issue with the battery keeping a charge. I've been told by the dealer I need a new battery but it seems like a generator issue to me (I've not checked yet). All in all its a nice tractor but its been a disappointment from previous John Deere models."
"I bought a new one the first of the month only able to get 3 hours on it before it started to have quality issues with the exhaust system. The dealer is trying but the problem is a poor quality at the factory issue. They are taking the tractor back to the dealer and trying to replace parts. I might stay away from this model until John Deere gets the quality worked out. I have bought seven other new John Deeres and never had a problem like this."
"I have a small cow/calf operation in the Missouri Ozarks. My main use of the tractor is to mow hay, bush hog pastures, feed hay and front end loader work. My farm is gently rolling with a river bottom. I went from early 70's technology to 21 century technology. Even though the tractor doesn't have a lot of fancy features, it fills my bill beautifully. It handles my JD 275 disc mower with ease and plays with my bush hog. If you have a small beef operation with your primary use being to put up and feed hay you will like this tractor. It is small enough to get around in barn lots but big enough and comfortable enough to operate all day long mowing hay. And the air conditioner will keep you cool on a 95 + high humidity day that we have her in the Ozarks. This past winter which was particularly cold for us wasn't as bad since I now have a heater. I highly recommend the tractor."
