"I bought this tractor used. It's kind of rough cosmetically but runs great. 23 hp. It came with a bush hog and scrape. I purchased a plow to use to break ground. It pulls the 5' hog easily and breaks ground well. Seems very dependable."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Compact with good power. Cons: Not hydro-static. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA GA I also considered buying:

"Have had tractor 17 yrs now, not many hrs. and only a few issues. Mostly used for mowing pulling a 6ft. woods finish mower. Love the power steering and 4wd. Finally had to replace front turf tires after 16 yrs. still on original rears. Also have 5ft. rear scraper blade, 5ft. King Kutter tiller. Just talked to the Deere dealer about a loader, says a 300 loader bolts right on $4000. Seems kinda steep but getting to old to do it all by hand. Has only failed to start 1 time bad battery cable. I really like this tractor did a lot of investigating before purchasing. Probably have forever to expensive to buy again. Greens been a great color for me."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Sips diesel, good power, last forever. Cons: Light front-end (added 100lbs to front rack). Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA OH I also considered buying:

"Purchased 419 loader w/bucket & forklift, 655 rotary tiller, Frontier 60" rear discharge grooming mower, and 72" Frontier rear blade all to use with this tractor. All are sized well for the power level and physical size of the tractor. Tractor has turf tires and works well for snow removal with the rb and loader combination."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Little fuel use, easy to operate, w/mfwd very capable. Cons: Gear transmission w/loader a little unhandy. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA PA I also considered buying:

"This tractor is a work horse. Five stars for reliability. Twice it has failed to start and both times it was corroded battery connections. I use this machine in a rocky terrain with lug type tires which is a good match. I use front and rear hydraulics with grading, log splitting, jib crane, high lift, back hoe and towing hitch. It is great for getting between trees in the woods and skidding logs out (fire wood and rough sawn). Follow the required maintenance schedule and service should be uninterrupted."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Compact. Reliable. Cons: No place for tool box. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA PA I also considered buying:

My 1st John Deere Tractor!

Model year: 1997 Date Purchased: 2010-11-15 Number of Hours: 560

"Great compact tractor. Very reliable if operated within its published limitations and maintained according to schedule. The engine (23-24HP), bucket (1190 lbs @ 18¡å ¨C 755 lbs @ full height), 3 point (815 lbs), and PTO (20 HP) have adequate power for a tractor of this size. I have used this tractor on a 5 acre property to plow snow, level the ground, move dirt, redo fencing, and cut the fields with no problems. Tractor has started every time with the first turn of the key. It suits my needs well and I am happy to have purchased it. Current Implements: - Rhino SE5 Mower. - Ford 6' Blade. - ETA 6900 Post Hole Digger w/ 6" & 9" Augers. Features/Mods: - JD 70 Front End Loader. - Two Stage Clutch (Continuous Live PTO). - 4WD. - Power Steering with Hydraulic Oil Filter Kit. - Selective Control Valve (SCV). - Rear Auxiliary Hydraulics (Power Beyond). - Engine Block Heater. - Front Work Light mounted on side of ROPS. - Rear Work Light. - 12V Power Outlet. - Fluid Filled Rear Tires. "

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Low fuel consumption. Easy to do maintenance on. Very maneuverable. Cons: The tractor has to come to a complete stop to shift gears. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA CO I also considered buying:

"I love my JD 770 so far. It has a lot of hours but it was well taken care of. I bought it from a local small college so it's in very good shape. Seems to have plenty of power for plowing snow but that's all I have used it for so far."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Plenty of power. Small enough to get into tight places but big enough to do most jobs. Cons: No end loader Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA IL I also considered buying: Kubota L2900

Model year: 1997 Date Purchased: 1997-06-01 Number of Hours: 650

"I bought my 4WD JD770 with agricultural tires new in 1997. It was purchased with the 70 loader, a set of 5 front weights, and a brush cutter. I had the back tires filled with chloride and made a 600 lb 3-point counter weight to use when doing more than trivial dirt moving with the loader. Since then I've added a a 3 point mounted PTO weed sprayer, a landscape rake and a manure spreader to the list of implements for this tractor. This tractor has been as reliable as gravity. It always works. It addition to regular maintenance like oil changes and greasing it has only needed a new seat, one new battery cable, two light bulbs, and two batteries in the time I've owned it. I get on it, it starts and runs like new. It has plenty of power for it's size, is easy to drive, and with the added weight in the tires really has some pull for tasks like pulling bushes out of the ground, etc. It will run all day with the brush cutter clearing pastures on a tank of fuel. I am very pleased with it."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Reliable, handy, economical to run, plenty of power for it's size, easy to maintain.. Cons: I can't think of any. It met all my expectations. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA PA I also considered buying:
