"I traded in a 2003 X585 for the X738 because of the auto-connect deck feature. The full time 4WD is very noisy compared to the X585 when going from forward to reverse. The engine has a ruff idle on start up. The design of the new hood has a lift handle that is open to the engine compartment which allows rain to enter the air cleaner that is directly below. I contacted John Deere about this and have not received a answer. For some reason John Deere recommends changing the oil at 8 hours. What a surprise to find that what use to take 10 minutes now takes 1 hour because of the change to the chassis design. Once you get a 10mm socket on the drain plug you can hardly move the racket. I can expect more disappointments as time goes by. I have owned a 445 and a x585 over the years and never felt the need to complain to John Deere, which is just as well because they just answer emails with company nonsense."
