"The 2010 had seen a hard life when I purchased it used. The hydraulics leak, the bar that holds the lifters was broken, the key that locks the left rear wheel so it will turn with the shaft came out. I paid around $7,000 for it from a local dealer and I feel that I paid way to much for it. If it was new I would love to have it but it will require a lot of money to fix it so it is really dependable. I still use it a lot for moving dirt with the front end loader and the back blade to move snow."
"Tractor is sound mechanically, front and rear tires only (2) years old."
"I was born on John Deere B and grew up on John Deere A. I've been away from tractors for 50 years or so and, on a whim, bought the 2010 off the internet. Tractor has really been used and abused but still in pretty good shape.Good sheet metal and rubber. Higher gears of synchro-mesh tranny are out but have lower half and all reverses. PTO sounds like a head-on collision when try to engage a PTO driver device. Other wise in pretty good shape. Have started with the obvious: fluids changed, grease, cleaned electrical, cleaned carb, etc. Next steps are repack/rebuild front hubs, repair sheet metal, sand blast, paint, decals, muffler, repair electrical, and improve remainder of mechanical. Hope it will be a fun project w/o too much expense?"
