" Tractor has been great so far AC seems good and the Heat is nice in cold weather too. But when mowing hay hi 1st is to slow and hi 2nd is to fast. The ride is very bad, but most all new models are. Still great tractor, little pricy!!!"
" Don't get me wrong I do like this tractor BUT I traded in my L5030 HST Cab model that I've been using for 10 years 1650 hours So I should know what my L5030 can do Right now I could get back in my L5030 and out do someone in the M7060 I have now moving dirt with the loaders Now something has to be wrong with the M7060 I seen a M6040 pick up stuff just at idle that my L5030 could do wide open So something is wrong Also have a L3240 & B3300SU Had a ZD23 and a ZD26 but with those Zero turns got sick of all the dust!"
"First Kubota. Always had NH before but wanted larger 4x4. This one is great except for one thing: the speed that most work, such as mowing and spraying, falls between 4/low and 1/high so you have travel a little too slow or too fast. Had to buy a 5300 with HST drive to resolve this issue."
"This is the largest Kubota tractor I've owned, the last in a string of 4. I started with a B7100 and was hooked. That had a 3 speed PTO, and I wish that was on my present one. My Grand L series was smaller than my present, and that was the main reason I traded up. That one had hydrostatic transmission, but due to the horsepower of my 7040 it was unavailable. I understand it is now possible and I wish I had that as well, but I opted for the optional 3rd speed box, which offers 4 speeds (running through the main gearbox of 4 speeds) of the slowest creeps you've ever seen, perfect for careful rototilling, leveling and such. You can put it in low low low, get out, make coffee, have a donut and return to your tractor about 50' from where you started. Not really, of course, but that's what it seems like! I have a cab with heat, a pretty good defroster, and a pretty good AC. In my opinion, there is room for improvement here, but it certainly is adequate, the main gripe being distribution for defrost and AC. The heat quantity will drive you out in the coldest of our Maine winters. Power steering is incredible, brakes fantastic, shifting gets easier and easier as the hour meter rises and there are NO leaks of any kind. It's very, very quiet but I worry about the lack of supports for the vertical exhaust, as it vibrates at certain speeds and eventually I fear it will crack. But their engineering overall is pretty darn good so we'll see if they've taken that into consideration. The gripes? Several: The steps are very odd, at an angle to the cab, and it's not easy getting in and out. The handle for the 4WD does not easily engage the system no matter how hard you pull it up, and it often takes quite a bit of clutch work to get it engaged. The lighting system is good, but there is NO protection for branches and such and they were broken within months, mainly by unseen branches while mowing the field perimeters. Simple metal cages would probably suffice, with solid shields to prevent branches from entering the cage. My biggest gripe? The paint job. This is the first Kubota I've had with this problem, and the factory and dealer so far are stalling with a repair. All the fiberglass items, the hood, fenders, fairings, as well as the wheels, have faded from their distinctive orange to a pale orange-white. The paint on the front bucket framework and bucket itself are fine, and it looks terrible. For the money I spent, much more than the cost of the "other" brands, I would expect a better, more durable and stable paintjob, or at the very least a prompt repaint. I would think it bad advertising to see a multi-color faded tractor working the fields. I keep the tractor under cover most of the time when not being used, so that's not really a factor. All said, I've checked out some of the newer boys on the block, beginning with the letter "K" as well, and would certainly give the other brand a real consideration for my future purchases. The expense is beginning to grow beyond the value provided."
"Tractor has performed flawlessly since purchase. No problems except one fuel issue resulting from buying old diesel. Treated with Schaeffer's Fuel Shock and got it gone. Model is a M7040HD 70HP 4x4 with bucket attachment Pull 7' Land Pride mower and 7' rotary disc. Also have grappling hook to swap out with bucket."
"Great light footprint for our land varying. From solid rock to bog. Never been stuck without traction yet! Easy tractor to use even for fairly long periods. Big features for a small tractor. A little bumpy on Tarmac at max road speed not bad when towing."
"Very good tractor, dependable and does everything I need to do. Added a grapple to front loader and it helps much. I am 69 and cannot lift much any more. Only wish I had bought a cab instead of open station. Only problem I have had with it is the step. Bolts holding it secure broke twice now. "
"Very nice tractor."
"I love my tractor and everything about, from the power to the way the controls are designed, a very comfortable tractor to operate."
"The wiring is a little bit small on the aux lights on rear. I had to tie up the harness on the front where it got into the harmonic balancer and shorted out. I have had some of the couplings leak one under the tractor the dealer tightened it up once and I have tightened it twice. Fan belt broke 20 hours. It is a power house and does what I want. I decided on this Kubota because the dealer had been 2 miles from my house for 35 years and all of my stuff had came from him he closed that store last month. (Toomey's equipment) If I had known this I would have went somewhere else. "
