Z725 Kubota
My New Z725 Kubota
Model Year: 2014

Only had it a week or so and think its great. I had the optional seat suspension put on it and that was worth every penny. The deck adjustment being at your finger tips as a big plus. No more bending over and pulling and pushing pins into holes! I have had a Toro for several years and was getting ready to buy the 5000 series pro when I checked out the new Z700 series they just came out with. It has plenty of power for what I do and will cut grass at crazy speeds.(11.5 mph)I purchased it from Grubb Implement in Covington Indiana. So far I am very happy with the Kubota.

Pros: Large tires, great seat, easy to adjust cut height.
Cons: None yet

Z725 Kubota
Great When It Works
Model Year: 2014

I bought a Z725 about a year ago and the first 4 1/2 months during the summer, I had issues with it. When it runs, it works great. It will cut through thick shoulder tall grass and a walking pace and thinner same height grass at full speed (tried it to see if it would bog down) cut nice and very heavy duty. My only problem with the mower is Kubota itself. From my first 4 1/2 month of owning it, it has been in the shop for repairs 6 weeks of that time. The first time was for a new right side hydraulic and this last time for a new carburetor. Both times the repair part was fast but takes Kubota over 2 weeks just to get the part to the dealer to fix it. Now this new mowing MG season in just under 100hrs on the mower and I just noticed hydraulic fluid leaking from the right side hydraulic pump area so I’ll see if this will b another 3 week long repair or a simple hose clamp just needs tightened. If it is more than a simple thing, I’m trading this in on a different brand. So of your thinking Kubota for a commercial mower make sure u have a backup mower to use while your Kubota is in the shop waiting for Kubota to get one shipped. I have heard for the dealers that Kubota is the slowest by far to get parts shipped to them. Kubota also won't let me return it for another of the same because it's not the same issue coming up each time. Even though there's only 45 hours on it. I am looking for another mower as a backup and will be trading this in for another brand just because of the down time.

Pros: Cuts great when it works
Cons: Reliability and repair turn around time is horrible

Z725 Kubota
Bad Boy Gone Bad!
Model Year: 2014

In the beginning, my beloved Z725 Kubota was truly awesome - for the first 7 hours. After that, it wouldn’t start, so I took it to the dealer. It stayed there for four days. Then they called and said it was a blown fuse. I got it back and used it the rest of mowing season just fine. One month into the 2015 mowing season, the power take-off nut came loose three different times, throwing the belt off. They said four or days in the shop. They did not know when they could get to it. There was no way I was going to be out of business for that long, so I fixed it myself. They should have put lock washers on this thing! I did, but then two hours later there was transmission fluid spraying out of left pump. Now off to the shop again I go…

Pros: Strong, cuts well
Cons: Lots of problems

Power Take-Off Clutch Fell Apart...
Model Year: 2015

I bought my Z7125 in the Spring of 2014. I have about 5 acres to mow, and this unit is a vast improvement over my Power-King 2014 (over 35 years old). I opted for the top of the line unit to avoid any performance issues. It runs and works great, but 75 hours in the power take-off clutch fell apart for no apparent reason. I clear all branches and rocks I can find, and never hit anything with it. The worst mowing is if the grass is a little wet and 2 weeks old. The store I purchased it from changed hands, but they honored the sale and warranty work. As you will read, the biggest delay is getting Kubota to send repair parts - it took over a week and a half. Next time, I will approve overnight shipping (my cost) to avoid delays.

Pros: Built well overall, fast cutting, ease of use
Cons: Worried about some parts going bad too quickly

Z725 Kubota
Kubota Z725 Zero Turn Mower
Model Year: 2014

I purchased the mower from (dealer name removed). It did fine the first couple years, then wham, it started. First, it had the belt break. I purchased new belt $119.95 while I was at (dealer name removed). They suggested I look at the pulley assembly. I did and found a pulley shaft bolt that was bad and took the mower to (dealer name removed)'s repair shop. They replaced the bolt. I got it home and the carburetor started acting up like it was not getting fuel. I took it back to the shop and it stayed there one month. Finally, they replaced the carburetor, for a total of $936. Two weeks, later the pulley bearings locked up on the one they repaired .They gave me the bearings under warranty. I carried it to another shop to have them replaced. Since then, I replaced the starter and two magnets for $240 plus labor. The mower has 259 hours on it and I am a very dissatisfied customers. I am 71 years old and bought this to last the rest of my life. It looks like I will outlast it. It has a 25-horsepower Kohler Command engine on it that I am not proud of. Maybe I just got a lemon, but after $8500, I could have purchased two mowers with the same warranty and a good reputation.

Pros: 60-inch cuts when it works
Cons: Will not buy another one

Was expecting far more...
Model Year: 2015

Purchased my unit 1n 2015. The first year the clutch went with under 100 hours, luckily under warranty. Third year the key switch went, $350 to have dealer find and fix problem (multiple trips out, dealer initially sent a "kid" who was about to cut open the wiring harness before I stopped him). Fourth year both tires started losing air regularly. Now have 317 hours on it and loads of problems. The gas solenoid went out (wiring problem, not the solenoid), and I was stuck far from garage. Had to bypass it in the field to get it back to "dry land". Oil also started gushing out, blew out the head gasket at about the same time. Now in shop, expecting high hundreds in repair costs. Dealer had 1 month wait, I went local to family business since I have no confidence in the dealer. Expected better from a Kubota and large dealer. May trade it in when fixed to avoid even more issues...

Pros: Thought it was a reliable brand
Cons: It was not
