Battery Screen And Frame Poor

"I have replaced the frame and screen covering the battery compartment two times and need a third. The plastic tabs bend and break no matter how careful we are. The dealers sold me a frame and screen when what I needed was the frame only. They knew what was broken, but wanted me to spend over $100, instead of $22 for the frame only. "

"I bought my BX2350 new and had many minor hydraulic oil leaks at the beginning due to bad inspections and fixes by the dealer. But I love my tractor. It is strong. It works really hard on landscaping and cutting lawns with the belly mounted 60 in. mower; as well as pushing big stones, stumps, and snow with the front bucket. It has very slow front hydraulics. I had problems with tie rod ends and Hydrostatic transmission ball joint rod and some limit switches but could fix everything myself. Would surely recommend it to anybody."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Good strong engine and mower. Cons: Slow top speed . Being narrow,be careful, easy to tip over....Roll bar doesn't fold: I had to cut it and installed pins. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: CND OT I also considered buying:

"I purchased the tractor used with 17 hours on it - first owner froze pushing snow the first winter and sold it. Primary use is mowing, 2 acre homestead with finish mower and 6 acre rifle/pistol range with Brush Hog. Good machine. Only issue is (was) the panel screen---broken tabs, too thin plastic---new style plastic frame and steel ribs due in to fix that."

Pros: All around, good machine. Cons: None. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA NE I also considered buying:

"Great all around tractor. Works like a larger one and with all equipment (mower, 3 pt hitch, etc) many attachments can be used. Really like the ability to use belly mower as well as attachments for 3 pt hitch (bush hog)."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Great all around small tractor. Cons: Plastic hood will crack easily. Rather pricey for tractor and parts. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA WV I also considered buying:

"Buying this was the best decision I have made. Plenty of power, easily maneuverable, Easily changed attachments. VERY frugal with fuel. Easily maintained. Just wish that the gauges had numbers instead of just HOT/COLD for temp. Also analog meter for RPM and hour meter instead of digital. Would also like to see analog gauge for oil pressure, engine oil temperature, and hydraulic oil temperature (I know, I'm being fussy)."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Easy on fuel, plenty of power for attachments. Cons: Fuel filter between tank and fuel pump is a bit difficult to get to. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA MO I also considered buying:

Humming Along In Germany

"We have a small horse and orchard "gentleman's farm" operation in Germany. We're getting up in years, so we needed to replace shovels, wheelbarrows and walk-behind meadow mowers with something combining of decent horsepower and small dimensions to fit through our tiny European gates and roads, as well as be storable in our tiny European garages. We've traveled extensively in the European wine country and Japan, and were impressed with small tractor design. Plus, we had great experiences with extended family members in the US' 1970s-era Kubotas and 1950s-1960s Gravelys which are still going strong. We also have lots of Stihl power equipment and Viking mowers which taught us the value of paying up a bit."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Big horsepower in a small package that fits through our gates and parks comfortably in our garages. We actually like the plastic body panels, and everything is waterproof. Plenty of power, even for big implements. Very fashionable look-and-feel. Bright headlights. Amazing paint job. Low fuel consumption. Cons: Really expensive (€21,000 or c. $29,000 with flail mower, loader and 19% VAT). Articulated roll bar has to be folded down to get into the garage. Electrical connectors in the rollbar are poorly designed. Front tires are comically small, and stability can get very jinky with a full front scoop of sand. We needed to have a front brush / grille guard fabricated for us. Hydro-static reverse feels slow. Up-and-down hydraulics for the rear flail mower feel discrete rather than continuous, giving a bit of bounciness. "BX2350, belly mower, bush hog, box blade, landscape rake, pine straw rake, chain harrow. We have 14 acres, about 8 in lawns & horse pasture, the rest wooded or wetland. The BX2350 turned out to be the best choice for our size operation. Even our neighbors who are lifelong farmers say it's perfect for us. We also use it to maintain 3/4 mile of dirt road into our place. The only problems we have had with it have been mentioned on TractorByNet--without the belly mower in place, sticks or debris can get caught in the cooler fan for the transmission and tear it up. Also sometimes debris, usually from bush hogging, can keep the emergency shutoff switch in the seat from making contact. Some owners say the HST transmission lurches in reverse. And a few others say the control lever for the FEL is too long and in the way. (They cut about a foot off it.) I say the only real problem is with sticks hitting that transmission fan, easily solved by just keeping the belly mower in place."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: It's a great tractor, perfect for a small horse farm or similar operation. Cons: Weakness with that fan, as noted. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA NC I also considered buying:

A Very Good Purchase

"I bought my tractor primarily to move snow and cut grass at my last home in a city. Also to replace my grown sons when it came time to move heavy things (like my gun safe). I have loved the Kubota, but now I live on 11+ acres and wish I had a backhoe to move rocks and flatten a few areas. I have used the bucket to move rocks and it is a little small for some of them. I'm at retirement age and probably won't be buying a bigger tractor but I will be pleased with this one for as long as I have need of it."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Great quality. Very functional. Cons: I bought a Kubota bagger for this machine and was very displeased with the operation of it. It worked okay if the grass was not too long and dry. Other than that, forget it. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA NH I also considered buying:

"Always wanted something bigger then a garden tractor. Got it. 2 things I don't like: high revs, good hydraulic pressure idle or low. Barely get loader or backhoe to move. Cub Cadet Yanmar as exp. at idle hyd. pressure will easily move implements. 2nd thing: when using backhoe you must get off and stand on ground to rotate seat so you can move tractor backward or forward vs. others where you may have 2 seats or just rotate seat to drive position. Otherwise great little machine in all other respects."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Starts easily after sitting for months, really nice seat. Very solid construction. Cons: Hydraulic pressure very low at idle and seat rotation not very easy. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA MS I also considered buying:
