Kubota BX24
Model Year: 2008

A great little tractor. This tractor will do almost anything a small homeowner needs. Controls are easy to use and very responsive. Tractor is very fuel efficient. The only problem I have found is trying to do so much. There are logs and rocks that are just too big and heavy to lift. I added welded hooks on the bucket, a non-hydraulic thumb, lights and a set of forks. I would recommend this tractor to anyone with less than 40 acres.

Pros: Reliability, fuel efficiency
Cons: wife has learned to use it.

Great little tractor. I have it with the FEL, backhoe and 60" mid mount deck. FEL is super easy to take on and off in a few minutes. Backhoe takes maybe 5 on a bad day. Great quality except I don't like how the body work attaches to the frame around the radiator - it's just not tight. Mechanically, truly awesome engineering and packaging. Proved invaluable removing the 4' of snow we had in February this year! The 4WD and extra weight of having the backhoe attached provided great traction even with turf tires. I would highly recommend this tractor if looking for a compact tractor for a good price.

Pros: Excellent engineering and just the right size for 99% of jobs.
Cons: Weak plastic body panels.

I could not ask for a better little tractor
Model Year: 2008

I've had it 2 years now and can't say i have anything to complain about. While I have the front end loader & the backhoe attachments, they do not get used much. When I do they have never failed and I have dug some large stumps with it and some french drains. Beats the heck out of a shovel. I have some forks of a small forklift that fit the bucket and that works great also. Plus I purchased a 60" center mowing deck mainly because I got tired of buying a riding mower every 2-3 years. So this is a great universal tractor, that does everything me and my friends & family need it to. Actually thinking of starting a small company to do lite earth work. NO COMPLAINTS HERE!! O by the way, my grandson loves it also.

Pros: IT CAN BE USED FOR SO MANY PROJECTS
Cons: NONE SO FAR

BX24 Kubota
Big Tractor In a Small Package
Model Year: 2006

I bought this tractor for driveway maintenance, ditch clearing, grass cutting, and snow removal, and does all of this flawlessly. Since buying it, I've welded chain hooks on the front end loader, and this has expanded the use of it for lifting and moving all kinds of stuff. The loader will lift just about anything that will fit in it, and it is a true back saver. The backhoe works nicely and has good power, but it could move a little faster. Both the front end loader and the back hoe can be taken on or off in 5 minutes or less, and it is very easy to do since the hydraulics do all the work. I have the 60" mid mount mower for this tractor, and it cuts very nicely. I've cut overgrown fields where weeds were at least 5 feet tall, and the engine hardly noticed. I just have to slow down and back up a couple times to get a good cut with the tall stuff. That's not the deck's fault, but it cuts as good as any other I've used. The only fault with the deck is it can be a little cumbersome to hook up to the tractor sometimes. Sometimes I need a 6 or 8" pry bar to line up the linkage. The deck is built very well, and it will probably last the rest of my life. This engine is very efficient. It will run all day on one tank of diesel. During a 40+ inch snowstorm, I filled up twice while clearing several driveways for neighbors, and I ran the tractor for several days on just 15 gallons. It's least 3 times more efficient than a gas engine of equal torque. The 3 point hitch works nicely, but the first year I had it one of the 3 point hitch arms broke. I was told it was from abuse so it wasn't covered under warranty, but I for the life of me can't figure out how it broke. I'm still convinced it was a poor casting, but I still had to pay for a new one, which cost less than 100 dollars. That's why I lowered the reliability one star. The tractor was down for over a week waiting for a lift arm from the dealer, yet the grass kept growing, and I couldn't use the mower without it 'cause that's what lifts the mower. I lowered the build quality one star because the screen under the steering wheel doesn't line up with the hood very well, and it looks like it doesn't fit right, but it's only cosmetic. My rear fender cracked also where the floor connects to it(plastic), but the dealer replaced it, and reinforced it for free even though it wasn't under warranty. After four years of ownership, I've moved lots of dirt, gravel, and fixed many driveways, and I am very glad I bought this tractor. It does so much you would think it was bigger than it was. I'm glad I have it, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a tractor this size.

Pros: Fuel efficient, strong, four wheel drive, easy to use.
Cons: Three point hitch must be removed to install back hoe.

Lots have been said about this little beast on this site and most of it is true. This is a little workhorse. I move earth, stone, horse manure, and snow with the FEL with no issues. I've dug over 1000' of ditch and dug up stumps with the BH. I bushhog trails in the field and mow about 2 acres with the belly mower. I also have the tiller and that works pretty well. The only negs so far are a couple of slow leaks in the tires and the FEL doesn't seem to float any more.

Pros: This thing is strong and pushes material well.
Cons: Wanna go faster!

I have had nothing but good experiences with my tractor. There was one problem with the hydraulic lines (connectors were bad and fluid leaked) that was covered completely under warranty. No other issues.

Pros: mighty for its size, dependable, fuel efficient, easy to use.
Cons: Fuel gage acting up (not reading full tank) after 100 hours. The common "jerking to a stop" problem

Kubota BX24 - Life Saver
Model Year: 2007

I can't say enough good things about this machine. It has saved my countless hours of brutally hard manual labor and enabled me to do a lot of things I wouldn't have been able to without hiring out the work. It will be paid off this June, and I've only got 180hrs on it but have done a ton of work. Only 2 minor issues early on, the seat bolt broke and a hydraulic coupler leak. Dealer took care of both of these pronto. My property is only 2 acres, but at about a 40deg slope down to the lake and the Kubota has let me cut trails about the property to get our golf cart all around. I've added a King Cutter back blade, a 3-point fork with a skid box I use for hauling firewood, and a bucket tooth bar. Hope to add an auger to put in a pole barn workshop down the road.

Pros: Compact, yet powerful
Cons: Slightly inconvenient changing the seat back and forth from tractor to backhoe.

BX24 Kubota
All tractors are a compromise, but it's a good compromise
Model Year: 2008

I bought the BX24 because a neighbor has one and I was impressed. I needed a small tractor that could dance in tight places since I need use all of the field that I've got. I can always borrow my neighbor's larger JD when I need more muscle or clearance. I have a 1/4 mile drive that needs to be plowed in the winter (back blade and tire chains)and maintained in the summer (box grader and rake), wood lot (chipper), fields (brush cutter, spreader, sub-soiler, disc plow). I also have a 100+ tree cider orchard (post hole digger) that needs love and attention. (That would be HARD cider if you were wondering.) I had to dig a lot of drainage ditches during the rains last summer (backhoe) and wish that I'd had some sort of enclosure. The major short-coming is that the low ground clearance is a real liability in NW PA mud, and it sinks to the chassis when I get into soft soil with the backhoe. On the other side, I get into areas that would roll a taller tractor, so I can't complain (I have wheel spacers in back for stability). The R-4 tires are another compromise. I have chains for plowing in the winter, but the R4s just don't bite in soft soil, and I wish there were some decent R-1 AG tires available. I really appreciate CAT-1 3-point since I can lend and borrow implements from neighbors, but the swing arms bend like butter if you compress them at all by pushing with the hitch. I've gone through one set a winter, and I'm going to weld plates on the next set to stiffen them up.

Pros: Small, agile, capable.
Cons: Low ground clearance, R4 tires, easily damaged 3 point hitch, no option of an enclosure
