"I bought this tractor used for light use on my hobby farm. I mainly move manure and mow with it. I wanted ~50 hp PTO for square baling, but haven't tried that yet. I really have had only minor starter issues, which are probably more a symptom of its age than the quality. One bigger issue I had was that the center hub portion of the front hub cracked and the wheel almost fell off. Again, age may have been the issue, but I've heard other folks say that they had similar issues on Kubota tractors and had to replace them."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Nice options for the price (loader, 4WD for around $15k used with low hours). Not green. Cons: I don't care much for the local dealer. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA TN I also considered buying:

"My quest for my first new tractor landed me in the John Deere show room. Almost convinced of a purchase, my later question was "they are still made in the USA?" India was the response and I headed elsewhere. After talking to several owners, I couldn't find anyone who could tell me something negative about a Kubota tractor. Looking at my needs and what I could afford, I settled on the M4800 4FWD. I can not stress more, get a front end bucket. AND if you get a bucket, four wheel drive is a must. It is the difference between night and day when it comes to two wheel verses four wheel drive. My 4800 doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles but its a work horse and then some, I've pushed the limits. Looking at used Kubota's, they have a very high resale value. And I've talked to more than one dealer who has told me if their business relied strictly on repair of Kubota tractors, they would go out of business. My only regrets is I wish I would have had rear hydraulics installed at purchase. At purchase I added arm rest to my seat and had a seat cover installed with heavy duty cloth (ducking). I found a mud hole I couldn't crawl out of. Photo below. "

Pros: Dealer told me I don't have to leave tractor running like old time diesel's Cons: Mine came with Firestone rear tires. The one time hydraulic oil change is expensive. Type of User: Homeowner 100+ Acres Location: USA TX I also considered buying:
