Model year: 2008 Date Purchased: 2012-08-01 Number of Hours: 500

"This model is a lightweight, apparently designed for just that. Several occasions 3-pt. parts break, front "propeller shaft" & coupling stripped out, low angle articulation on front axle, easily stripped diff lock, rear end gearing now stripped out. Only used for tilling, mowing, loader work, minor pulling (industrial tread tires won't allow major pulling-they spin."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Weak hyd. pump won't allow blowing out of hyd. cylinders, good on fuel. Cons: As noted above. Cost. Type of User: Homeowner 50-100 Acres Location: USA NY I also considered buying:

Have Had 4 Wheel Drive Issues Since Purchase. Looking for Others With Same Issue

"My 3215 4 wheel drive spleens have been replaced twice now, the dealer says poor quality parts. The tractor worked well under the 3 year warranty but since the warranty has ran out the issues have piled up: Right front wheel bolting issues, and 4 wheel drive issues. I spent in excess of 5K for repairs since the warranty expired and received no support from dealer even on repeat problems. Oh, I have about 600 hrs. on the tractor. Any suggestions on 4 wheel drive issues? Anybody else having same issues?"

No Complaints Yet - 4 Years, 570 Hours

"I've got a 3215 HST, Tractor/Loader/Backhoe with a quick-attach front bucket, pallet forks, a box blade, and a set of work lights on the ROPS. I've owned the tractor for 4 years and have since put 570 hours on the machine. At 80 hours, I got into a complicated situation and ended up nose diving the machine down a 10-foot embankment. Ended up trashing the rollbar, springing the loader arms, and smashing the hood. I thought for sure that the insurance company would "total" the machine - they didn't. Replaced the smashed equipment and kept on running. Have since put nearly 500 hours on the machine. Oh yeah, smashed my arm in the process - that didn't fix as easily as the tractor. Things that I've had go wrong: -Front tires rotted through the sidewalls. I believe these were Titan tires, which had a history of rotting. -Sheared off a grade 8 bolt that connects the swing chain from the backhoe to the hydraulic swing cylinder. Used an easy out and was back in business in about 2 hours. -Had a hose burst on the bucket curl cylinder for the backhoe. Actually, I think I smacked in on something, which contributed to the failure. $86 and back in business in an hour. -Had the dealer add the additional loader frame support brackets as part of a recall notice from Mahindra. As I understand, people were essentially "abusing" the loaders to the point that it would crack the engine block. Long story short, I don't think the dealer installed it properly on the basis that 5 hours after using the machine, one of the bolt heads sheared off from stress. -Had a small leak around the drive shaft (not sure, dealer found it while getting loader support bracket replaced). While fixing the seal, the dealer also noticed that differential lock had a couple chunks taken out of it. Again, long story short, I saw the part when returned - looked practically brand new. Think the dealer took me for an additional $500. -Headlights don't work. Doesn't matter, can use them through the front end bucket. Plus, I've got an awesome set of work lights on the ROPS. Probably a fuse. -Hydraulic pump for the implements just went out. Waiting to get repaired. The pump is going to be $400 + towing and labor to install the pump. Things I've done in 570 hours: -Dug foundation for a new front room. -Dug foundation for a new spring house. -Built 2 large barnstone retaining walls. -Toted around untold pallets of materials. -Dug 300-foot trench for new gas line. -Dug 150-foot trench for new underground electric service. -Dug 400-feet of drain lines. -Moved a full size, upright piano from truck to house through 4 inches of snow (put it on a pallet, and picked it up with the forks). -Repaired access roads and driveways with the box blade. -Used the pallet forks and a pallet as a work platform to put roof on the new spring house. -Prefabricated 2x6 walls for the spring house and moved them into place with the pallet forks. -Am now working on digging a 70-foot pond I could go on and on and on... This machine has been amazing! So, after all this time, and rolling the big accident at 80 hours, I am extremely happy with my 3215HST and would recommend this unit to anyone. Although, it's now a 3616 model. However, I will confess, I'm now looking for a bigger machine. I really want a Mahindra 5035HST Tractor/Loader/Backhoe!"

"I bought this 3215 HST 4-wheel drive about 3 years ago. I've been using it and a Kodiak 5' cutter to mow fox tail rye grass, tall wild mustard, and small brush usually California juniper and wild ceanothus. Tractor and loader was $16,335 delivered plus reduced farm sales tax of 3.25%, with a no-interest 3-yr Mahindra loan via Agricredit Acceptance LLC. This is an amazingly easy tractor to operate. So far, the only negative is The Owner's Manual which is the worst piece of technical documentation I've ever tried to decipher. "

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Power, ease of use, perfect for small area brush/weed cutting. Cons: Too compact. Access to engine blocked by loader framework. Gets hot too fast in dusty environment. Radiator is too small and adequate cooling is blocked by screen and battery. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA CA I also considered buying: Kubota B3200

"I have had two Mahindras. The first was a 2615 hat. It was a good tractor, but due to breaking the rear end gears (due to operator abuse) it was traded for a 3215. It too is a good tractor for what my needs are. I use it for tree work clean up loading brush with home made brush forks. I have various attachments, box blade, grader blade, tiller, rock rake, finish mower, bush hog, and a roller. All are 5th except the finish mower and roller witch are 6th. The tractor has plenty of power for all of these. I have had a few issues, but only one has resulted in having to take it back to the dealer for repair. As for the dealer ship that I got it from, I would be hard pressed to go anywhere else. The owner Roger Lambert (Lamberts' tractor in Riverton Ks) has been a pleasure to work with. On a recent bush hogging job I broke the mower and needed to do some welding to fix it. I was in the area of Lamberts so in desperation I called him at home. He met me at the dealership and let me make the repair. It's a guy like him that keep customers coming back. Overall I have been pretty happy with Mahindra and will probably trade up to a bigger tractor in the future."

"My 3215 4WD has been great. I wish the dealer had been a little more friendly, but he was the only one in the area. I have used him once for a warranty fix on a leaking hydraulic hose and it took them two weeks. I wish the tractor also had a cup holder for those warm days when I am mowing. Overall it has been a great tractor."

"I purchased this tractor with loader based upon my experience with a friends borrowed tractor. The dealer was knowledgeable and willing to bargain, he didn't insist upon selling at MSRP. Purchasing experience was great, free delivery from 80 miles away from my home. Had a early failure of a loader hydraulic hose that the dealer acknowledged and provided a replacement with no arguments. Only real problem I have had is with Mahindra's finance arm, Agricredit in Iowa. They don't accept direct payments from banks. As someone who pays all my bills online, I can't understand a company that doesn't accept online bill pay; it's time they caught up with the rest of the world in financial transactions!"

"My 1st tractor. Comfortable size tractor to learn on. Easy to use. Very happy with overall quality and price/performance. Fits in well on our small horse farm. Main jobs are arena maintenance, manage manure pile, fertilize and overseed pastures, move fallen trees, grade low land areas and gravel road. 4wd used frequently for loader work, hills and wet areas. Feels stable on inclines. Good fuel economy."

"This tractor is mainly used as a clean up type tractor or for when we need to get up close to something or in tight areas. By no means our main use machine, thus not so many hours use on it. I will say that it was a very pleasant surprise when first using it to see how much power that it has since I usually use my Mahindra 75204x4. I have added a few things to it to help out, but overall I think that this little tractor is quite a machine."
