"I have had this tractor for six years. I purchased it new with a front-end loader and bush hog. I use a 5' box blade and a grader blade with it as well. I have been about as rough on a tractor as could be. I also load round bails for my horses. I have bush hogged just about anything I can back over trying to clear my property. The only thing I have ever had to do was replace the tie rod because I ran over a stump. Great tractor, just wish I had a larger one."
"I use my tractor to it's fullest capacity most every time I am on it. I mow about 3.5 ac with a 5 ft mounted mower, have moved countless yards of dirt and gravel (built a new garage/shop 2 yrs ago)with the loader and plow snow covering about 1/4 ac with a 5 ft mounted blade. I also have used it to rototill and haul many loads of ash tree trimmings and fire wood with a homemade 4X8 trailer. I love the quick attach loader (have taken it on and off 3X in the same day). If I get rid of this tractor it will be for another Mahindra period."
"I have been looking for some one who knows about the hydraulics of the 2615 tractor. I wanted to add a stump grinder to tractor. So I bought the stump grinder and extra joy stick and hydraulic lines. I installed them and unit worked, but not as I would like. The front end loader and back joy stick have to be used together in order to lift the loader or raise the back 3-point hook up. I have been looking all over the web sites for information on how to fix problem. Have not found anything as of yet. I would like both joy sticks to work independent of each other. Does anyone know how this could be done? I have call some dealers, no one had and good answer that I found."
"Although this make of tractor is good, it as to many things that need to be changed every 100 or 200 hours. Also the battery is almost impossible to get out. I did find a way to get it out. Facing the front, slide the battery to the right side. Then turn it up and then lift up. It is a tight squeeze; but it will lift out. Then reverse the procedure to put a new battery back in."
"I am very pleased with the 2615 HST. I bought it new in 2005 and have zero issues with it. It has the FEL, 5' box blade, 5' brush hog and could not be happier with it. I have operated it beside other tractors with higher HP and have stayed right with them or out done them. The Mahindra is one tough tractor. Will buy again."
"I have been somewhat disappointed with the reliability of the Mahindra 2615. I bought it new with almost all the accessories. Here are the issues: - Sheet metal is WAY too thin the slightest bump will dent it. - Cheap quality switches and automotive type wiring connectors that aren't suitable to off road service. - Paint quality is poor---soft, fades and doesn't adhere. - Glow plugs must be kept on hand as failure is commonplace. - The front drive ring gears failed at a cost of almost 1,000 dollars at 400 hours. - Repair parts are insanely expensive. - The shuttle on the backhoe (chain mount) failed within 5 hours - no parts available to repair. I suspect that most of these issues are common to all compact tractors. They don't build 'em like they used to."
"Purchased my 2615 in April 2009 along with a 6' finish mower. The second time I mowed it bogged down and stopped running. After talking with the dealer, it was determined the tractor had untreated diesel fuel--cleaned the tank out and replaced the fuel filter, and haven't had a problem since. Great little tractor, lots of power for 26 hp (I got my 5050 Allis stuck, and the Manindra pulled it out without spinning a tire). Very fuel efficient, and quiet the only negatives--difficulty changing from neutral to high or low range and tends to run hot in 90 degree weather (I remove one of the side panels, and that takes care of the problem). Would purchase again in a minute."
"This has been a great tractor and I like it a lot. The problem is with the cost of maintenance and upkeep. The radiator had a cracking problem appears to be common in this tractor. The air cleaner they want $50.00 no air cleaner should cost that much for a small tractor. Radiator drain valve sits lower than the frame and in brush breaks off it is plastic $34.00 each time it breaks. I could go on and on but you get the idea. If you bought this tractor a piece at a time 60K at least. The tractor is a great work horse the after market support is less than desirable."
"When we decided to add a 25hp tractor to our equipment fleet, we didn't want to just buy the first one we looked at. We tested all makes and models. We found that the Mahindra offered the best balance of power, turning, lifting and reliability. Not to mention price and financing. It has done everything asked of it from snow to mulch to final grading."
"Came with bucket, backhoe, ROPS (roll over protection system). Only minor complaints are somewhat jerky backhoe hydraulics and very difficult to mount/dismount. Extending hydraulic lines allowed backhoe to be hooked up to lines for positioning hoe to mount on tractor. Use 540 PTO to power 12/15 kw generator, DR chipper used to clean up 25 trees taken down for wildfire defense. Generator powers whole house. Power a log splitter off hydraulics. Used extensively for heavy snow removal Nov.-April in neighborhood. Advise chains for traction. No commercial rear wheel spacer to allow rear wheel chains, but found shop Sparks NV that is custom making. See earlier post for details. Would def buy again except local dealer Yreka CA stopped dealer service."
