"I bought the 4035 new in February 2011. Overall, it looked to be a well-built-heavy duty tractor and in some cases, it is. I like the design and compactness of it. I have had great dealer support - thank goodness for that and the 5-year warranty (which has expired). It only has 140 hours on it to date but have had several problems. I had 3 separate hydraulic leaks on 3 separate occasions in the first months after purchase. One required the removal of the rear tire. The dealer was able to repair all 3. Then my front-wheel drive went out about 3-4 years after it was bought, which was a very expensive repair. Luckily, the dealer was able to do it under warranty (the dealer was able to convince Mahindra to cover it somehow since the powertrain warranty expired). Then my bucket became unusable where it would only go down and not up, so my tractor was stuck where it was because the bucket was completely in the down position. The dealer explained the known issue with a cable linkage under the lower right rear side where it comes loose inside. I was able to repair it myself. Then there is the light for the glow plugs - after turning the key on, it will not work, then it will start working again (I thought it was burnt out when it first did it, only to have it start working a couple months later). The dealer said it was a known issue, but Mahindra doesn't know the fix. While moving brush, a stick came in and bent my hood open knob/linkage, so the hood would not open. It is built pretty weak and bends easily, meaning it needs a guard around it. It just had another leak from a large bolt holding on a hydraulic control valve and lost a large amount of hydraulic fluid before I realized what had happened. Luckily, I was able to fix the leak myself and don't think anything internally was damaged. With no warranty left, I am concerned about what might happen next with this thing and I have so few hours on it. I read several other reviews with serious fuel issues with Mahindra series tractors like mine coming out around this time - these issues I have not had yet. I cannot recommend this tractor to anyone and I don't believe Mahindra's customer satisfaction rating is what they say it is - 97%? Not true - they did not want to hear about the problems and it was a waste of time talking to them. I could never buy another Mahindra. This was going to be my last tractor but I’m not sure it will get there. Complaints have been voiced to no avail. I may have gotten a lemon, but now I am stuck with it. Do your research and compare with other brands/reviews. This is not best tractor out there by any means. "
"I have 202 hours on my 2014 4035. Overall, it is an excellent tractor. It has good power and is easy to operate. The backhoe attachment would be better if you could use the driver's seat instead of the separate backhoe seat. The bucket could have its latches beefed up a bit. I have had them release one side a few times. I have started bolting the bucket to the mount. The only major problem I have had is that the hydraulic hoses are cheap. I have had two break open and dump fluid. The factory does not warranty the hoses except for 2 years, which sucks. As they break, I am beefing up the hoses. I do enjoy the unit as a whole and recommend it for the price. "
"First tractor for us, and couldn't be happier. No problems whatsoever. Always starts easily, even after weeks of no use. Stays cool when mowing in hot weather. Did the first service myself, and other than my own mistakes, everything was easy to access. We bought a brush hog and the Mahindra backhoe and switching equipment is simple, the hardest part being backing up straight to but the backhoe on. Loader has lots of power, tractor is easy to handle and it turns tight. It's a little loud, but with ear protection, it's more than bearable."
"I have only had this tractor for less than 2 months so I don't know much about it yet. I use it for bushogging, tilling and yard work. I got a loader bucket on it and it is 4x4. So far it is great, the only problem I have had is with the pigtail. It is a 7 round pin connector and I need 7 flat pin, I have tried to swap them out but have not been able to get all the lights to work right. Other than that I really like it so far."
"No problems at all. Took a bit to get used to all the different controls. The shifting was very tight at first but it is starting to loosen up now. The only thing I would like to see is a self-leveling option on the loader."
