Model year: 1996 Date Purchased: 1996-12-15 Number of Hours: 2000

"I purchased this brand new for our small ranch with a Woods front-end loader. My wife has put more hours on it than I, but I repaired everything that broke. In its time, the tractor was good compared to John Deeres and Fords. I didn't consider a Kubota for some reason. The tractor was purchased as an all around unit that could fit into our corral (10-foot) wide alleys and then do general field work of harrowing, raking, digging, moving, and stacking hay, etc. Two very bad issues: 1) the total wiring harness had to be replaced after the warranty was up because of corroded wire and poor connectors 2) Very poor support from (dealer name removed). After several years of complaining, AGCO finally agreed to replace the wiring harness at no cost, but I had to take the tractor from north of Seattle to south of Portland for the repair. The front-end loader attachment bracket bolts have broken twice, they are too small. I'll change the second set tomorrow if I can get the broken bolts out. The tractor is not made for real continuous work, just a hobby farm. We ran buffalo for almost 20 years. "

"Although this tractor might be small and the front loader is just a tad under powered, I gotta say it's been everything I could have asked for, considering what we've put it through. My brother-in-law and I have put a little under 500 hrs. on it with a Woods 4' brush hog & backhoe, a lightweight grader, landscape rake, and 12" auger, doing everything from simple snow work and mowing, to shaping 95' of limestone shelf, a 150' 5' deep trench for electrical service, and so many other jobs too numerous to mention. Other than regular maintenance and tire work due to our rough terrain, the only major expense was our fault for not promptly replacing a broken tension spring on the clutch pedal, which resulted in the need to replace the clutch. DUMB! $6 part and a short trip to our implement dealer could have saved us over $1,000. Long and short of it, if I had to buy a new tractor for what we do, I'd get whatever Massey Ferguson replaced this one with. Love my 1250-4 and would recommend it to anyone looking for a mid-duty all around worker."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Easy to operate and economical. Cons: Lighter lifting than I'd like (850 lbs?) be lifting on the front-loader but we get around it. Type of User: Location: USA IL I also considered buying:

"This has been a great little machine. I use it for everything from excavating to getting firewood to feeding livestock. After 13 years of hard work, I just replaced the head gasket. The only thing I have a complaint about is the price of parts and the fact that Agro Corp. seems to have a lock on parts. (i.e. $238.00 for a head gasket), but then again after 13 years and $400.00 for repairs (doing the labor myself) that's not bad!"

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Does a great job for the size of machine. Cons: Parts are expensive and hydraulics are slow, mainly the backhoe! Type of User: Commercial Construction Location: USA NC I also considered buying: Kubota B5100
