"I was very disappointed when the water pump went out at 450 hours and my wonderful Massey dealership (dealer name removed) wanted $742.00 just for the part. I didn't want to buy the whole engine! This is an absurd price for a water pump. I might consider selling the tractor and buying a different brand."

"Tractor has plenty of power and is easy on the fuel if you are not using full power all the time. I mostly cut grass (12-14 acres) with a Caroni 91 in finish mower. The negative about this tractor is the rough ride. I greatly reduced the rough ride by removing the loader and reducing the tire pressure. It still is rougher than my Ford 3000, but I attribute that to the rigid frame for the 4WD. Overall the tractor is very good "

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: You can stay clean and cool all day while getting work done. Cons: Some of the plastic in the cab has cracked due to the rough ride. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA GA I also considered buying: Kubota L5240

"In the past 14 months I have put 100 hrs on the tractor. When I first got it, I found the ride extremely rough (I mow about 14 acres with a 91 inch Caroni finish mower). After I removed the loader and reduced the air pressure in the tires the ride was much better, but not as my Ford 3000 2wd. The Massey is 4WD. The seat could be much better (suspension). Overall the tractor is a great performer. Cutting grass is is a fuel miser, but last week I cut a neighbors hay field (great to have the in-closed cab with AC) and it really used some fuel cutting the tall hay. Love the QPS electric shift trans with shuttle!"

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: AC cab, QPS transmission w/ shuttle, easy to service. Cons: Rough ride, seat also lacking. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA GA I also considered buying: Kubota L3940

"We bought this tractor used with about 400hrs. Overall, it is an average tractor at best. We have had several expensive repairs that seem to be related to poor design and unusual parts failure. Controls seem to be placed so they are easily bumped or inadvertently activated. It does have nice heat and air conditioning. Loader has quick action and good speed. Gearing of transmission is okay."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Tight turning radius, nice cab. Cons: Reliability, fuel consumption. Type of User: Homeowner 100+ Acres Location: USA NY I also considered buying:

"Last year I purchased the tractor. It is nice but could use a few improvements. It came with a DL130 loader. I use it mostly for mowing. I have a 91 inch finish mower. The tractor has plenty of power. My biggest complaint is the rough ride. I took the loader off and it made a big difference, but it isn't close to the ride of my Ford 3000. It could use an air ride seat. The fuel consumption isn't bad as I can go 10 hrs. on about 12 gal. of diesel. The low (snail) range is too low except for maybe a trencher (ditch witch)."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Tight turning radius, plenty of power, easy to service. Cons: Rough ride, loader control is easy to bump with knee when looking back. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA GA I also considered buying:

"I originally bought a Massey Ferguson 1433. I used that for 6 years and found it was just too small for my needs. MF was offering 0% financing so I went to my dealer to see about upgrading. He offered me in trade what I paid for my 1433 6 years ago! That says something for the value that these tractors hold. The cab is great in so many ways from staing cool in the summer when haying to staying warm in the winter when plowing our 1500 foot long driveway. The transmission is easy to use and has plenty of range. I would tell anyone to buy a Massey Ferguson!"

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: I like all the features this tractor has! Cons: Changing the oil filter is not easy due to access. It's not bad if you remove the bracket in ront of it first. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA MA I also considered buying:

"I shopped all in this range Massey, JD, Kubota and hands down Massey offered the best in class and it is as I have owned all the other brands cab is great ac in NC is great so is heat no vibration cab is quiet only brand in class to offer a true power shift qps. I got the r4 tires and had a bit of concern as all mine in past have been r1 but all in all they are good. I use a 6 ft rotovator loader and machine weighs enough it gets traction with the big r4 and they are much easier on the ground but in heavy snow. The r4's are too fat r1 does much much better but in Asheville snow is not a decisive factor. Be sure to get factory loader high lift cap this is not a light duty machine an can easily be much more than most people need a lot of power more than you would imagine if you can afford it as it is a expensive one you will love it."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Power comfort top brand. Cons: Power comes at a cost big motor burns a bit of fuel factory loader joystick often is in way of leg when you turn to back up. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA NC I also considered buying:
