"I bought this GC2600 after reviewing Kubota, John Deere and some others. The price was right on with the options I wanted. It came with a front-end loader and 60-inch mowing deck. This tractor has been used for a multitude of uses including hauling mulch, dirt, gravel, mowing, towing, and moving snow. One word of advice: If you live in a cold area spend the money on a block heater! It is well worth the price. Maintenance is very easy on this tractor. In the 7 years that I have owned it, the only problem I had was a cracked fuel line. I really love this tractor (when I can get it away from my wife). "

"This is a great tractor for anyone. It cuts grass in the summer with a 60 inch mid mount mower and moves snow in the winter. It had three big driveways to do and no matter how much snow it always gets the job done. This tractor will start up even in the coldest temperatures with no problem. This tractor also has an LED light bar which user 4Shorts encouraged me to get. "

"It's a good little tractor but does have some bugs. When the hydro fluid gets hot, the system fades. When under load it's very slow in reverse. Foot peddles froze up. Returned to dealer. Said they never seen that before. Throttle cable froze up during last snowstorm. A spot rubbed through on it. Replaced that. Dealer never seen that before. Light switch currently stuck on it. I have the fuse pulled. Block heater lasted for about 10 plug in's and is currently burnt up. Dealer never seen that before. Front axle are starting to seep fluid. It's only half paid for. Thinking about trading in on a Deere."

"I bought this tractor to replace a riding lawn mower and walk behind snow blower to give me 1 piece of equipment to mow, clear snow, till, and more. I've put almost 25 hours on it in the 3 weeks I've had it and am not disappointed! With the 54" Taylor Way tiller, I've tilled 4 gardens for friends. I've mowed the lawn 3 times with the 60" deck, and realized it now takes me about an hour to do front and back vs. the 2+ hours just for the back! With a set of 4x4 posts made into forks for the loader I finally moved the 2"x12"x60" flag stone steps off the front stairs that are no longer used, and carried them to our fire pit to use as benches. After that, the loader made quick work of breaking up the rest of the material to haul away. This project was done in an hour instead of my expectation of all weekend by hand/air chisel, and small wagon load to the back of the property. I welded grab hooks to the bucket within the first week, and have used them to lift and carry things, pull down small dead pine trees, and lift the floor joists in my barn to repair the sagging floor. I couldn't be happier with this little tractor!"

"The GC2600 has been a great little tractor. I have used it for clearing small trees, rotary hoeing, moving soil and fertiliser and slashing fairly heavy tropical grasses. The diff lock and four wheel drive will tackle anything I have thrown at it. There are two thing about my tractor that Massey Ferguson needs to address. The hydraulic operation is extremely harsh. There is an adjustment to control the speed/rate of the hydraulics lowering, but when using the 4 foot slasher or the rotary hoe the lift is highly aggressive. The whole tractor bounces as the implements raise unless you are EXTREMELY fine with the use of the control. The other major problem is the engagement of the PTO. Engagement is either on or off. The slasher and rotary hoe both SLAM into operation even when the engine revs are at 900rpm, almost stalling the engine, in an attempt to decrease the frankly, damaging feel when the PTO engages. It seems that damage occurring to the tractor PTO or the implements, is not an IF but more of a WHEN. I am surprised Massey Ferguson hasn't remedied this terrible PTO. The tractor is great on fuel, very reliable and a joy to use. My dealer experience is something I have rated as a 1, because the rating didn't go any lower than this. In reality I would have given the dealer a minus 5. "

"Bought my MF GC2600 used, with front end loader, mower deck and 50hrs on it to do a big landscape project in my 2 acre back yard. The Dealer gave me a 10 minute run down on the operation of the controls and I was on my way to rebuilding the backyard. After tallying up over 100 hrs (so far) and over 30 tandem truck loads of dirt plus the removal of about 25 trees I now have a new backyard. So far performance, reliability, and comfort, have far exceeded my expectations. Am planning on getting a front mount snowblower for use in the winter."

"After doing extensive research, I settled on the GC2600 a sub-compact tractor built by Massey Ferguson (AGCO). Only drawback at time vs. JD was warranty 2yr instead of 4r. Massey had better financing and was about $2,000 less than comparable JD model with what I felt were better features. Standard Features: * Hydrostatic Trans. * Cruise Control * Power Steering * 4 wheel drive We have a total of 14 hilly and wooded acres in the northwest Georgia mountains of which about 6 acres are cleared. Working some of the areas requires careful driving since the slope varies from 15º to about 20º of inclination. The attachments are: * Loader (standard on this model) * Mid-Mount 3 blade 60" mower. * Price $14,600 (AGCO 60 months no interest) So far this tractor has lived up to my needs and expectations. The incline in our terrain has not proven to be a great hindrance for the 26HP of the machine and with care the tractor has handled the mowing while going up and down while mowing, very well. And also handled loads of chopped wood and broken limbs after storms. This past winter the loader came in handy to clear 1,200 feet of paved driveway that had over 9" of snow accumulated during a very rare northwest Georgia snow storm. Only once do to my driving and hitting a hole while driving at an angle to the hill, did I have to drop the loader to the ground as an emergency maneuver to maintain stability while negotiating one of the hills. But wearing the seat-belt and having the ROP made me feel secure. In reading trade magazines I have found out that these two devices so far have saved 95% of lives in roll-overs. I have just purchase 150lbs of rear weights to provide added stability due to the fact that because of the loader and the engine the machine is a bit light in the rear end. I also feel that the mid-mounted 60" mower many times acts as an outrigger providing additional stability against tip-overs. This purchase has proven to be a good one and the machine has been worth every penny. I would again buy a Massey (AGCO) product. "

"I shopped around for a few months and looked at JD and Kubota sub compact tractors. All 3 tractors are well built machines. What drew me to the MF was the ease of maintenance, horse power, dealer support, and the 72 months no interest and no down payment. So far everything that I have done with the tractor, it has handled it with no problem. I have only used the FEL. I haven't bought any attachments yet. The only concern that I have with it is the FEL is not level. The dealer has been great in trying to figure it out. "

"I purchased the machine last year on a buy with cash and got a free loader deal that was too good to let go at the time. The price point was the deciding point between the Massey and the New Holland. It's really a red Kubota, with controls better located (in my opinion) and several thousand cheaper. The loader works well, and can lift a lot. So much that the rear tires may come off the ground. I've moved a big block motor in the garage with it, but only when carefully centered on the loader. If lifting heavy frequently, buy a weight box. As the machine feels like it has a high center of gravity. Side slopes make me nervous. Keep the loader low and be prepared to drop it. I typically move 9 to 10 rolls of sod at a time with it. I prefer it over a skid steer, both for price and ground damage. The tires do not put a lot of pressure down, and no skid to steer damage is done. The thing sips fuel, I wish the tow vehicle was like this. "

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Price Point - factory incentives at that time. Cons: High center of gravity - feels tippy with loader. Type of User: Commercial Landscape Location: CND OT I also considered buying: New Holland 1025
