GC2610 Massey Ferguson
So Far So Good! Excellent Unit......
Model Year: 2009

I like this Tractor so far.I've moved a lot of snow and it did very well.I have a lot of work for it the spring, that's when I'll find out for sure.I'm not worried though.I compared the GC2610 very carefully to the other Subcompacts and this one was by far a better buy And More rugged tractor in my opinion.

Pros: Finacing, Bigger BH bucket, Dual rams on FEL, Pedal arrangement
Cons: None so far....

Massey Ferguson 2610 TLB

I have a heavily wooded approx 4 acre lot that I plan to clear over the next several years. Researched tractors for quite a while, picked this one for best value for money, and I picked right. I use the FEL and BH in conjunction to remove stumps and prep the ground. I also have the 60inch mid mount mower deck, and have become an expert (almost) at taking the BH and FEL on and off. The mower deck is a little hard to get on but very solidly built. Indeed, all of this is very heavy duty. If I have any quibbles it is that the FEL locking switch is so low I tend to hit it when I hit the reverse peddle, but I have gotten used to that; and to lower the mower deck pins some weight needs to put on - so you either have to hold them down and engage the hydraulics or extend out teh 3 point hitch for gravity pulling down. Again, minor. Overall this is just a lot of tractor for not a lot of money relative to say John Deere. The Kubota's were close, but the Massey dealer is just a few miles from my house and they were great to deal with so far. Great tractor.

Pros: Heavy duty, good value, very functional, well thought out implements
Cons: see review, very mino

Overall Performance
Model Year: 2009

This compact tractor can do almost as much as its larger relatives. However, you must be patient since because of it's size and power it takes longer to do, but you can work in a lot smaller places. In general this is quite adequate for for my needs.

Pros: Compact size allows access to smaller area.
Cons: Hydraulics outrigger cylinders on backhoe leak during winter storage. Hydraulic hos attachment to backhoe cumbersome. A bulkhead connector would be better than the loose hoses.

Little Beast
Model Year: 1973

I have very little experience with tractor, loader, backhoe systems. In fact my experience is limited to the 100 hours which I have put on this tractor. I removed huge stones from my driveway, leveled and resurfaced a 200 foot driveway, constructed 200 feet of pathway through the bush (much more to come), dug a latrine, leveled platforms for two portable garages, dug and secured two posts for a fence gate, removed several stumps (many more to go), cleaned the driveway of snow through the winter. My brother is very experienced with TLBs with many hundreds of hours under his belt. When I first purchased this machine he thought I made a mistake. He had not tried it yet and called it a "motorized wheelbarrow". He has sinced changed his tune when he tried it out and will be considering a smaller unit like mine in future. This is a wonderful machine and, if you take your time, you can build castles.

Pros: Easy to transport, low fuel consumption, easy maintenance, hydraulics are available at low RPM's, outstanding dealer support.
Cons: I honestly cannot think of any.

Excellent Machine
Model Year: 2013

After looking for a few years I finally settled on the Massey Ferguson GC2610 TLB. So far I have been very happy with the purchase. The tractor has done everything I've asked of it and more. Pedal placement, although a personal thing, is great compared to some of the other brands. It has plenty of power and charges through things others would struggle with. The backhoe bucket is pretty large for a subcompact and makes the Kubota bucket look like a toy. My current project is removing a rather large shale hump in the back yard and the backhoe has very little problem ripping through the stuff. Of course you have to understand where to hack away at it, but once you figure that out it takes material out with ease. I've removed whole slabs of shale bigger than will fit in the loader with the backhoe. I have had a couple of warranty issues (FEL won't stay in float, fuel gauge reads full all the time, left backhoe stabilizer control binds when hot), but all are being corrected. I could have gone with one of the other brands I looked at, but the more I use this thing the more I'm convinced I made the right choice.

Pros: Lots of power, ease of use, control layout, visual design.
Cons: Seat could be easier to move to rear facing position.

Great Tractor
Model Year: 2012

Can't beat it great tractor would like to have some more storage. Seems to be able to lift more than a BX25.

Pros: Value.
Cons: Needs storage space and a nice place to store pins.

Additonal Comment - Backhoe
Model Year: 2013

A comment I forgot to make in my initial review was that if you purchase a late model 2600 Series TLB try to get the dealer to swap out the newer style stabilizer pads for the bigger older style. I've found that the new smaller pads are useless on all but the harder surfaces and shoring doesn't help all that much. The small size allows the pad to bury itself in softer surfaces and you end up using the backhoe itself to raise the machine up high enough to retract the arms (the power isn't there to retract them with their own cylinders once they bury themselves. I found this out after purchasing and the dealer offered to sell me a set of the older style pads. $186/each. I wasn't about to pay that much for something that should have been on the machine to begin with, so I got hold of some 2x10 channel, cut it in 12" lengths and bolted it onto the existing pads. Works like a champ for a lot less money. I quizzed AGCO about the use of the smaller pads and they told me it was done to make the later models more attractively priced, which in my opinion basically means they used an incorrectly sized pad to boost their bottom line.

Pros: Still a nice machine.
Cons: Backhoe stabilizer pad size.

Compact Tractor Massey Ferguson GC2610
Model Year: 2012

I feel the Massey Ferguson GC2610 is the stronger of the 4 tractors I looked at. The tractor is very operator friendly.

Pros: Easy to operate, very stable, good fuel consumption.
Cons: So far none.

Average Tractor with Poor Design
Model Year: 2009

It was just an average tractor with minor annoying problems. Hydro-static pedals got stuck constantly. Tractor was moving forward until reverse pedal pressed and same in opposite way. Constant replacement of hoses due to rubbing against other components. Started replacing them after approximately 100 hours with no support from dealer front loader paper thin too easy to damage. Liked easy access to motor components and maintenance. Was always kept in garage but hard to start if not plugged in.

Pros: Always did the job.
Cons: Unsafe hydro-static pedals and tranny poor hose placement design.

I love my little loader backhoe, I have had it now for 4 years and I haven't had any problems, I use it every day for some thing I will get a bigger one some day, For its size, its great the only thing is I wish it had a little more pump pressure but for a 25 HP its great.

Pros: Love it.
Cons: Wish the pump had more pressure.
