"I bought my 235D after an accident which resulted in the burning of my old Harry Ferguson TO20. I bought it used (obviously) not knowing that the insurance company would have paid for a brand new tractor, comparable to the TO20. Oh well. Mercifully, she's not given me much trouble for all the work I've put her through. When the boys were young (many years hence) we farmed our little 11 acre plot, basically growing whatever was the hardest thing to grow at the time. We planted sweet corn for a few years, then pumpkins, sunflowers, potatoes and a few other crops. Some actually produced a few dollars in income. We used the MF to plow with a set of 2 x 16's, disc, drag, fertilize, plant and harvest, liberally intersprinkled with brush hog work and dragging farm wagons and firewood logs from place to place. I also use it to drive a power take-off driven snow blower that is 6'6" wide, 7' tall and weighs over 900 pounds. I should say that my property is all standing on edge. All. In the 20 years I've owned it, I replaced batteries, a fuel gauge, alternator, muffler, exhaust manifold, radiator core and all the tires. Other than that, it starts every time I turn the key and does pretty much whatever I ask of it. It has live power take-off and Cat 1-3 point, but no hydraulics, which is a bummer. But she's still out there working - so I can't complain. "

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Powerful, agile, reliable Cons: No hydraulic take-off, steering sucks (recirculating ball) Type of User: Location: USA MI I also considered buying: Ford 1000, Allis Chalmers C, Oliver 880

"This is a good tractor for home keeping and gardening. The only drawbacks for me are: rough drum brakes, noisy vertical exhaust, no cab. The engine starts on the first compression and burns about 0.5 gal/h. I haven't experienced any problems with the power steering until yet."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Lightweight, nervous, compact, versatile. Cons: Rough drum brakes, noisy vertical exhaust, no cab. Type of User: Homeowner 50-100 Acres Location: EUR OT I also considered buying:
