"We have 3 W-4s still in active service, all in original condition, only 1 has had a recon motor. These tractors are used to tow 3 Tonne trailers of almonds on our property during harvest. They have for their size excellent traction leaving most newer tractors scratching for traction to pull these trailers. They have all been work horses in their time. they have horsepower above their rating with these driving our spray plant better than our 50+ horsepower International 484."
"I have a 1947 Mccormick Deering W4. It is fitted with a distillate manifold and carby. The W4 was a one owner tractor and still had its original tires when I bought it (still has original rear). It has never had any electrics fitted so has to be hand cranked. I enjoy putting this tractor to work towing a leveler around the yard where I work and will be taking it to shows around the lower south island of New Zealand. I intend to one day restore this tractor but it is in such good original order that I have no hurry to get it done.I have found that it has plenty of pulling power (considering that it is only about 25 horsepower)."
"I have 3 of those W-4 tractors, 2 of them have been recondition (1949 & 1952). The 1951 except for replacing the 6 volts battery and doing tune-up. This one still run as well as as the day it came out of the factory."
