"I have had numerous issues with this tractor, leaking fuel tank, rear box will not stay down (floats to easily) replaced in cab radio. I will have to change every hydraulic hose on this tractor, I have changed 5 already. Door hinges broke. I can not order parts from Montana they tell me to go through my dealer! Dealer closed in Joshua Tree Ca. Dealer closed in Temecula Ca. Nearest dealer to me is in Ramona that is in process of not working with Montana. I have to order parts from Dealer in Dinuba Ca.300 miles away! Great guy at Pete & Son's!!"

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Air cond. in cab, radio in cab, front loader works great! Cons: Dealership issues, Montana not resolving fuel tank leaking issue. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA CA I also considered buying:

"I had spent many days looking at the big three tractor mfg. John Deere, Kubota and New Holland. I knew I was looking for a tractor in the 40-50 HP range with a cab, fel, 4x4 and R4 tires. I had drove, looked, tested and priced all three of the brands listed above. On my way home from John Deere I was driving and thinking about what tractor I was going to buy the next day. There was another tractor dealer I had passed up that I knew had Montana tractors, but had never gave them any thought. I turned around and went back to look at those new Montana tractors my buddies had been telling me about. The dealer was very knowledgeable about the Montana line of tractors. I told the dealer what I was doing and looking for. They came back with the keys to a 4940C. looking at the tractor from the outside I noticed that the fel brackets were much heavier built and that the front axles was much larger then the other big three's were. I noticed that Montana had two hydraulic steering cylinders "one" for each front tire and a common tie rod connecting both front wheels and the other big three tractor mfg's didn't do that. The cab is much larger and has larger doors that makes getting in and out of the tractor easy. The controls are well laid out thru out the cab. The lighting on the outside of the cab is nice and works well giving you good lighting at night. The power from the 4 cylinder Mitsubishi is strong and sips on the fuel. At the time of my purchase, Montana tractor's had the best hydraulic power, price, warranty, quality, layout, options, arched fel, breakout / lift power, and was a much heavier built tractor then the other big three were at the time. I use my tractor for house pad work, landscaping work, commercial lot mowing and dirt work jobs. I'm very happy with my tractor and I'm glad I bought it over the other brands. "
