"I bought this tractor when I was actually looking @ another advertised on Craigslist. I had owned an old Massey Fergusen MF65 with a front loader for 17 years that didn't owe me a dime after cleaning up over 10 acres of old family property. It was treated pretty rough over those years and finally the engine blew up. My wife convinced me to not put a cent in this now 40 year old tractor so that's all the incentive I needed to get something else. The Montana was in absolutely new condition. It only had 69 hours on it and the paint wasn't even worn off the bucket. It has turf tires on it and since most of my heavy work was done, it looked like a real good fit. The first job I did with it was to scrape the driveway for some rental property that we have. There is quite a slope going up to the highway & the old Massey would lose traction when in reverse grading out the last 50 feet or so. I was really surprised that when I 4wd this little tractor did the job with no slippage whatsoever. Getting this thing into or out of 4wd drive is a real chore. It shifts really hard. Don't know if something is wrong or just the nature of the beast. The next job was for bush hogging some pretty rough territory that we purchased after buying the tractor. (5FT Bush Hog) This is when I wished I had that old Massey back. This is more cutter than the Montana really likes. Going slow there is no problem with power just vibration. Maybe that old Bush Hog isn't in the shape it was when new after all. Present implements include the 6ft scrape, 5ft bush hog, single turning plow, front loader and a homemade plow for laying electric & water lines. Future plans call for a wood chipper, roto-spader and a generator. I'll probable have to get some ag tires for all the ground engaging work. All in all, I think it's a great little tractor for what it is, but I probably should have gotten something heavier."

"This is a good little tractor. I bring a lot of Oak & Hickory logs (18 to 30 inch diameter X 8' to 12' long) out of steep Ozark timber on front forks. I have fluid in rear tires plus a 600 lb 3 point weight. It's amazing what it will do. It will handle 5 ft brush hog easily. "

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Good power on little fuel. Good hydraulics (front and rear); live power. Cons: Dealers have a tough time ordering the right parts. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA MO I also considered buying:
