"Having purchased a small farm in rural KY. in 2009, I needed a compact tractor to allow me to create a wildlife friendly environment and maintain trails, etc. After researching the options I was persuaded to look closely at a New Holland Boomer based on my needs and on the strong recommendation of a friend and NH owner. I was close to buying a Kubota. I found a nearby NH dealer (who also sells orange machinery)who had a Boomer 3040 with 30 hrs. on it for sale. It came with a FEL and full warranty. Previous owner was the local CNH sales rep. After a test drive and some minor haggling I bought the Boomer and added a Land Pride bush hog mower. Delivery was free as my farm was within a reasonable distance from the dealership. The Boomer has been a reliable and capable machine from day 1. It does everything I ask of it easily. My farm is hilly and in 4WD the tractor is surefooted even in the wet. It occasionally bogs down when the bush hog is engaged and I'm cutting heavy brush, but rarely stalls and only when I'm not paying attention to the RPMs. The 40 HP engine is more than I need but that's on purpose. The FEL is very capable and the joystick control is excellent. The seat is comfortable and adjusts well. I've yet to have any service performed as I'm still under 100 hrs. Fuel consumption is average, which means quite good. I keep it in a dry barn and regularly air hose it off. It fires right up even after sitting unused for weeks in the dead of winter. I use a diesel fuel conditioner and stabilizer in the winter. The Boomer is a fine looking piece of equipment. My farm is in an area dominated by old Ford tractors so we're right at home with our neighbors. Blue is the color of choice around here by far. Overall, I am very pleased with the Boomer 3040 and haven't looked back at my choice of tractor. And I bought it for no money down and no interest on financing! Sometimes you just get it right from the get-go. Highly recommended."
