"I bought two of these tractors new in 2012. They were fairly cheap but both have had constant problems. It took me only a few years to put more money in the tractors for repairs than I bought them for new! They have roughly 500 hours each and have had all sorts of repairs like injector pumps, clutches, hydraulics (on multiple occasions), brakes, 3-point,starters, and bearings!"
"We use this tractor for everything from baling and mowing to spreading our manure. I had a couple of minor issues with it in the beginning with the throttle cable hydraulic lines. I got all the kinks out and now it runs pretty good. It is a little under powered. If you don't mind downshifting it is a pretty good tractor and easy to service. If I had to buy a new tractor I'd buy another New Holland TD5050."
"this tractor was a good price when i got it new but before i hadput 10 hrs on it i had to get the service truck out due to fuel level gauge was not reading properly then nothing but fuel issues the entire time i owned it it left me stranded many times they have a inline fuel filter on it which which had to be changed constantly they use clear vinal tubing for fuel line i then blew a clutch at 150 hrs they warrentied that then i blew another clutch at 500 hours but they wouldnt warenty the warretied clutch as they both blew withen a year these cluches are dry cluches i have now traded this tractor for a wet clutch tractor i dont know if my problem were the tractor or the dealer doing the repairs either way not happy "
"Use the tractor.for mowing, baling, spreading , snow removal, and light tillage work. Have been very happy with the tractor. Cab visibility is great and maneuverability exceptional. I replaced a JD 4020 and have been very happy with power and fuel economy."
"I manage a 2000 acre research facility so we don't use the tractor for normal farming applications. We do a lot of road grading maintenance and moving dirt piles, logs, and rock. We use it for mowing as well."
"Where do I start! Brakes good when they work. New master cylinder, hand throttle came away in my hand! There was a new update fitted free. Heating rubber hose behind tool box worn dew to rubbing on tool box, back arms not going up and down the way they should takes about ten mins for them to go down! Forword and reverse shuttle almost completely seized very painful noise when this is used, brake plug at back for trailor burst lost all brake fluid---no! Brakes again. We own a Zetor. Great we tractor. Puts it to shame. Looking to trade it in for another Zetor."
"Overall it's a great tractor. I don't use it in an agricultural setting. I manage a 2000 acre biology research facility so I use it for grading roads, brush hogging, drilling fence post holes, stream restoration/erosion control on stream beds, some digging and moving rock and dirt. "
"This tractor has had persistent hydraulic line problems from the day I purchased it. 3 ft. main hydraulic under belly of tractor has blown out at least 5X now. Dealer in Crockett hasn't a clue how to fix it except to give me replacement lines or replace the line themselves. Line consistent blows 2-20 days after it is replaced. They have pressure tested some hyd. components to no avail. They tell me it is happening to a very few TD5050 tractors, but don't know why! Bottom Line: STAY AWAY FROM THIS TRACTOR! It is a piece of junk that will empty your pocket and give you a lot of downtime."
"So far so good with new tractor, will know more this summer after hot weather and hay work. Built in Turkey, quality is okay, but I am happy considering the $$ per pound. Not impressed with JD version E series much lighter built than TD 5050."
"I bought a brand new New Holland TD5050 in Aug of 2010 from Wooten New Holland in Carter, OK. This tractor is a complete disappointment and I wished I had my old tractor back. I am not sure if Wooten New Holland in Carter, OK can't repair this tractor or if this tractor is not repairable. The air conditioner doesn't blow cold air in the summer and the heater leaks antifreeze out of the headliner in the winter. The brakes don't work correctly and is dangerous to operate. Wooten New Holland only responds to my service needs after debating over freight charges to haul this tractor back to their dealership. After several of these freight trips the tractor has not been repaired. I wished I had my old tractor back. This tractor has 70 hours on it now. "
