"I bought two of these tractors new in 2012. They were fairly cheap but both have had constant problems. It took me only a few years to put more money in the tractors for repairs than I bought them for new! They have roughly 500 hours each and have had all sorts of repairs like injector pumps, clutches, hydraulics (on multiple occasions), brakes, 3-point,starters, and bearings!"

Pros: Doesn't cost much Cons: You get what you pay for Type of User: Commercial Farmer Location: USA ND I also considered buying:

"We use this tractor for everything from baling and mowing to spreading our manure. I had a couple of minor issues with it in the beginning with the throttle cable hydraulic lines. I got all the kinks out and now it runs pretty good. It is a little under powered. If you don't mind downshifting it is a pretty good tractor and easy to service. If I had to buy a new tractor I'd buy another New Holland TD5050."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Nice size and maneuverability around the farm yard Cons: Little under powered, have to use lower gears Type of User: Commercial Farmer Location: USA NY I also considered buying:

"I manage a 2000 acre research facility so we don't use the tractor for normal farming applications. We do a lot of road grading maintenance and moving dirt piles, logs, and rock. We use it for mowing as well."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: 4 wheel drive works great, road grading capabilities are really good. Lift height of the front loader is good and the break out force is good. Able to run 100% biodiesel straight from the factory. Cons: Cab could be designed better for site, the shift knob was cheap plastic and fell apart not long after we purchased it. 3-point hitch center link hits the PTO guard. Could use stronger hydraulics up front better weight lifting capabilities. Stereo does not work that good and the AC vents are poorly situated. Type of User: Commercial Construction Location: USA MO I also considered buying: Bobcat 331

"Where do I start! Brakes good when they work. New master cylinder, hand throttle came away in my hand! There was a new update fitted free. Heating rubber hose behind tool box worn dew to rubbing on tool box, back arms not going up and down the way they should takes about ten mins for them to go down! Forword and reverse shuttle almost completely seized very painful noise when this is used, brake plug at back for trailor burst lost all brake fluid---no! Brakes again. We own a Zetor. Great we tractor. Puts it to shame. Looking to trade it in for another Zetor."

Pros: Great tractor to drive when working! Cons: Has constantly been nothing but problems. Type of User: Homeowner 100+ Acres Location: EUR OT I also considered buying:

"Overall it's a great tractor. I don't use it in an agricultural setting. I manage a 2000 acre biology research facility so I use it for grading roads, brush hogging, drilling fence post holes, stream restoration/erosion control on stream beds, some digging and moving rock and dirt. "

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Capable of running 100% biodiesel straight from the factory, more horsepower than competitors, stronger break out force and higher front loading reach than its competitors. Cons: Stereo speakers are junk, the shift knob made of two piece plastic keeps falling apart. Type of User: Commercial Construction Location: USA MO I also considered buying:

Terrible Tractor: TD 5050 with FEL and No Cab

"This tractor has had persistent hydraulic line problems from the day I purchased it. 3 ft. main hydraulic under belly of tractor has blown out at least 5X now. Dealer in Crockett hasn't a clue how to fix it except to give me replacement lines or replace the line themselves. Line consistent blows 2-20 days after it is replaced. They have pressure tested some hyd. components to no avail. They tell me it is happening to a very few TD5050 tractors, but don't know why! Bottom Line: STAY AWAY FROM THIS TRACTOR! It is a piece of junk that will empty your pocket and give you a lot of downtime."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Save money and buy something else! Cons: Spends a lot of time in shop. Type of User: Commercial Farmer Location: USA TX I also considered buying: John Deere 5425, John Deere 5403

"So far so good with new tractor, will know more this summer after hot weather and hay work. Built in Turkey, quality is okay, but I am happy considering the $$ per pound. Not impressed with JD version E series much lighter built than TD 5050."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Price, nice engine set up, heavy 3 point arms, fun to use. Cons: A bit more noise in cab than a JD, throttle arm tight. Type of User: Homeowner 50-100 Acres Location: USA OH I also considered buying: John Deere 5083E, John Deere 5101E

Can it be fixed? I wish I had my old tractor back...

"I bought a brand new New Holland TD5050 in Aug of 2010 from Wooten New Holland in Carter, OK. This tractor is a complete disappointment and I wished I had my old tractor back. I am not sure if Wooten New Holland in Carter, OK can't repair this tractor or if this tractor is not repairable. The air conditioner doesn't blow cold air in the summer and the heater leaks antifreeze out of the headliner in the winter. The brakes don't work correctly and is dangerous to operate. Wooten New Holland only responds to my service needs after debating over freight charges to haul this tractor back to their dealership. After several of these freight trips the tractor has not been repaired. I wished I had my old tractor back. This tractor has 70 hours on it now. "

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Brand new. Cons: This tractor is defective or the dealership is. Type of User: Homeowner 50-100 Acres Location: USA OK I also considered buying: John Deere 190C, Caterpillar 95E, Ferguson TE-20
