"These are great tractors. I just got a '59 with an after market loader and I love it. Plenty of power, good range of gears, great brakes and easy to work on, except for the loader being in the way. I now have 5 of them. 3 1959's, 1 with a loader, 1 with out and 1 with a bad transmission. I also have a 1963 for parts that has power steering and a 1966 with a solid front axle, power steering, a 588 loader and a broken lower center case. I would recommend a 550 over any other tractor in it's class."
"The 550 was by far the best utility tractor for the time period. It is a beefy 42 hp tractor that is easy to drive. The six speed transmission, independent PTO and three point hitch was far ahead of other utility tractors of the period. The tractor easily handles a 3 plow, and 5 foot rotary cutter. The seat is comfortable and the steering is easy even without power steering."
"The Oliver was one of the best utility tractors built. The tractor has independent PTO, live hydraulics and a six speed transmission. In most ground it is a 3 plow tractor. Good parts availability. "
"Didn't have this tractor very long yet. Was in rough shape when I got it. But got a good deal on it. Working on getting it in good cond. Fixing all the leaks. It has good power especially comparing it to my 8n. "
"45 hp Independent PTO Comfortable Live hydraulics Tractor is the best."
