"I purchased this tractor last year for $1,200.00. If I had known that Satohs are almost impossible to get parts for here in the midwest, I would have never purchased it. I have to special order all parts from Virginia, "if" they have any..."

"This is both my second Satoh and my number 2 farm tractor. I grew up with a first generation S650G that was purchased new in 1970. It was a wonderful unit, with cramped operating platform as the only problem. That unit was lost when my father passed away. In 1998 I was able to buy a second generation S650G used. As with all used tractors you have to repair the damage done by others. It has been a good tractor, but was used hard, has some leaks, and a fuel problem (foam in the fuel line) causing rough running and stalling. Must be a pin hole leak sucking air, but I can't locate it. I have seen many complaints about performance, but mine have been very good for their size class. They are strong and durable, but you can not beat on them without consequences. Repairs are easy, but not for the novice."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Size, nimble, strong, durable, gas engine. Universal 3 point. Cons: Part interchange data, OEM part availability. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA MI I also considered buying: John Deere 940

"I had this tractor given to me as it's future was bleak. I am in the process of restoring it and that is the only reason I gave it such low marks. It does not run at present. Engine seized, water pump shot, steering box seized, and on and on. To date I have restored the water pump and the steering box and they appear to be fine now. The engine has been removed and disassembled but parts availability is an issue. This is a semi long term project. Will review the ratings as I progress along. "
