Model year: 2001 Date Purchased: 2001-06-01 Number of Hours: 0

"No hour meter, so I'm unsure how much use this tractor actually saw before the motor froze. I used Mobil 1 100% synthetic for each of the oil changes and the premium oil filters...changed at least twice per season and mowed 1/2 an acre for all but 3 of its years of service where it then mowed 3 acres. Powered by a Kohler Command, it seemed to get great gas mileage and didn't start smoking until the last couple years of its life. The mower deck was built very tough and is still completely intact without any spindle replacements. The Hydro is original and must have been pretty tough because I used it to pull logs out of the forest with a logging chain on more than one occasion....Loftis Small Engine in Ozark can put a brand new 27 HP B&S engine for under a grand.....if I hadn't already purchased a new Husqvarna GTH26V52LS, I've have gone ahead with the new motor as the rest of this tractor has a lot of life left in it.....I'll still likely do this in the future...for right now, it sits in my backyard waiting for a new motor."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Cheaper than a Deere, Tough Hydro, Big tires, well made deck. Cons: Kohler Command crapped out much earlier than I'd have expected. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA MO I also considered buying:

Model year: 1999 Date Purchased: 2011-05-01 Number of Hours: 0

"This was a good buy, especially now that I have been using it every season since 1999-2011 without major failures. It is also used to clear my 100' driveway in the winter with a push plow blade that connects under the chassis and is up/down controlled by the deck raise lever. quite a workhorse. The only thing I see now is that tractors sold at Home Depot have come down significantly since I bought this. I paid $2999.00 back in 1999. I wonder why that is? Is quallity compromised or are the new tractors being build for less cost?"

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: 48" deck. Still on original belts. Heavy duty frame (cast iron I think). Cons: Pretty much impossible to mulch with this, even with Gator blades. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA NJ I also considered buying: Sabre 2048, Scotts S2554
