"When I purchased a TYM model T234 HST(25 horsepower) with loader and backhoe, I thought I would be able to develop a three acre plot of land in the western North Carolina mountains. This bit of paradise was to be my retirement home and after much research I thought that this tractor was exactly what I needed. Over the course of the first three years, 2 under warranty, however, it proved to be a nightmare. The backhoe mounts tore off the tractor with 250 hours on it, right after the end of the warranty period. I fixed that by designing a bracket that restrained the backhoe utilizing the hitch. The front end loader broke both of the main attachment arms, in a catastrophic event that allowed the entire loader to crash lopsidedly to the ground, 150 hours on them. Replaced under warranty, the new attachment arms started to break again just after the warranty ran out, so I re-welded them and provided some much needed bar support. Since then, I have put 300 more hours with no change, and no damage. The loader is good. However, the backhoe, shortly after the attachment issue, had one after another (of the bushings that allows the main beams of the backhoe to pivot and extend and contract) just crack off. I have had to weld the bushings back on the beams and add more metal. The main pivot bearing that allows the backhoe to swivel actually started to break off and would have collapsed if I hadn't welded it back on and added additional steel to it. Another issue, the bolts that hold it together keep backing out, which threatens to have the machine just fall apart. I have had to remove all the bolts and locktight them. The company response is a joke. My dealer was only in business a year and then quit the tractor business. Other TYM dealers have had problems with the support from TYM and have actually quit representing TYM because of it. After the 2 year period was up, They were unwilling to even talk to me, which in my view is a poor response when their equipment is so poorly designed that it poses a risk to the operator. My estimate is that I spend an hour repairing the machine for 2 hours of use."
"I bought this tractor for my 1 acre home. I added the backhoe shortly after purchase. The tractor came with the FEL. I have been extremely happy with all aspects of the tractor. I did purchase a small Gannon and wished I had gotten a larger one."

"We have 4.5 acres in central NY; the terrain is extremely hilly, with an ever-changing surface due to erosion. I use the tractor mostly for mowing (about 3 acres' worth), and snow removal (the driveway exceeds 250 feet with about 500 sq ft of parking area at the top). The TYM performs well most of the time; it tends to leak fluids, mostly from the rear wheel assemblies. The front loader and its hydraulics are excellent for snow removal, rock, soil, and/or gravel transport and placement."
"It's a great little tractor. I use it mainly for hauling logs and firewood. Occasionally put a finish mower behind it. Has not failed me yet."
"Great tractor. I had the lower PTO seal go bad, fixed under warranty. I bought it primarily to mow. Since I use it for everything. I have cleared areas dug an area for a patio skid logs. The rear wheels on the deck break very easy. I started using metal law mower wheels for $10.00 and just replace them when they break. They last a lot longer than the factory ones. It needs some sort of stop for the deck to sit on instead on riding on the casters. I think it's heavier built than the JD 2320. I ended up buying a commercial zero turn and with the tractor and mower I spent the same as a JD. "
"Great little tractor does everything I have asked it to do. It was half the price of a John Deere! Managed to cut and lay 200 yards of recycled bitumen road with it using a rear grader blade and the front bucket. The only problem I had was the fuel pump fuse blew due to a wiring short at the fire wall. It had 50 hours and it was fixed under warranty. I also run a post hole digger, carry all and a 4 foot brush cutter."
"I love this tractor. Price was fantastic, has all kinds of power, handles smooth, have bucket, 5ft belly mower that is awesome, a single blade plow for food plots and use it almost everyday. Oh great warranty and service from dealer so far."
"I bought this tractor because my old 9N finally died. I use it for EVERYTHING. Hauling trees from the woods, brush cutting, mowing, digging, snow plowing, loading trucks, you name it this little thing does it. Would have loved a Kubota But got this new for half what they wanted for one of the name brands."
"I purchased the tractor with a front loader, a gannon box and a 4 foot rotary mower. The only problems that I have had is that a couple of the hydraulic hoses leak and the transmission will often creep when there is no input to being moving. It runs very well and does the work that I have asked of it very well. I was motivated to buy it because of heavier, sturdier construction than comparable tractors and the Mitsubishi engine. Of course there are times that I wished that I had purchased a bigger tractor!"
