"I have a DR Mower and the motor has died at an early age. I am swapping in another Kawasaki fc420v. Right now the Doner engine has no spark. I am trying to find all the "safety" switches first to bypass them. Any advice?"

"I bought this unit because it was made right here in Vermont, and I thought it would be up to the state's image for quality. Big disappointment from the start. It was advertised as able to handle 3.5 inch branches. And to be fair, it did okay on softwood like Eastern White Pine. But here in VT nearly everything is hardwood, and except for small saplings I think a beaver could have chewed up a branch faster than this chipper! The drive belt snapped after four hours of use, and DR told me they had no replacements in stock and it would be three weeks at least before they were available. But a few phone calls later I found a supply center a few towns over that not only had them in stock, but supplied them to DR! Altogether a miserable product and really poor customer service."

Pros: Compact and light enough to drag around by hand. Cons: Flimsy, chute clogged often, bad customer support. Type of User: Homeowner 100+ Acres Location: USA VT I also considered buying:
