Land Pride RCR2672 Posted by Ron on 10/26/2017

I liked my land pride RCR2660 so much but needed one a little larger. I sold the 2660 and placed an order for a 2672.

I picked it over the round top 2772 model because of the single arm for the tail wheel instead of the A-frame style tailwheel the 2772 has. With an HST tractor, the single arm was so much easier to back up close to trees and fence posts to trim around. The 2672 comes in and it has same tailwheel as the 2772. Land Pride failed to update their website photos showing the new design even though it has been out for months. The dealer was never notified of design change. If I had known about the tailwheel change before ordering it in (no dealers close had them in stock) I would probably gotten another brand of HD cutter and saved money.

With that said, its a nice well-built cutter, very smooth and HD. My L4600 runs it just fine. It is a heavy cutter though. If you don't have at least a 45-horsepower tractor and front-end loader or weights it will make your front end light. They advertise it as only 40 pounds more than the 2660, but to me in the seat it feels a good bit heavier. The 2660 never tried to lift the front end going up hills like the 2672 does.

The only con to me is the plate across the back of it. It is not open like a lot of cutters are on the tail end. It hung on stumps and cut off saplings and piled up debris under the deck. Take off about 10 bolts and it's easily removable though, so not a deal killer. For those of you cutting fields it won;t be an issue at all.
