PT1445 Posted by Bruce Klosky on 01/10/2012

I purchased my 1445 with a LM bucket, 72 inch brush mower, mini hoe, and trencher. I have built a post hole auger, snow plow, hay spike, and have modified a Massey 52" round baler to operate with my 1445.

The PT has proven to meet or exceeded my expectations. I had a few minor leaks while under warranty, and had prompt service from Power Trac to resolve the problems. After the machine was out of warranty I experienced problems with the charging valve leaking. I found that the drain for the valve was not open to the tank, causing the seals to blow on the charging valve. I replaced the valve with a Mico valve and rerouted the drain line and have had no further issues.

The brush mower was found to be lacking, the blades were to light in weight and the attachment bolts were to small, and the rear tires fell apart after only 20 hours service. I have modified the blade mounting disc and have installed four 15 pound blades using standard brush hog bolts and blades, and have installed 15 inch segmented tires on casters at the front and rear.

I use this mower to cut 12 acres of hay for baling and have had no further issues. This attachment needs to be redesigned by Power Trac as their original blade design could be a hazard. This is the only attachment that has given me any problems.

Some modifications that I have made to the tractor are: Rear 12 volt power receptacle, Auxiliary front lights, 2 inch receiver hitch at the rear, Grab handles and utility hooks on ROPS and engine cover.
