Power Trac pt2445
Model Year: 1985
Bought this machine because of all the snow we had a couple of winters ago. It has been worth every penny. I would be lost with out it. Unmatched versatility. Let get the things I don't like about it out of the way. Needs some way of starting it in cold weather (cold weather kit, or a liquid cooled engine that you could hook quick couplers up to). Say about 28 degrees F I have to pull the air breather canister off and slide in a small sunbeam heater. Next is the bucket won't curl straight down so you have to shake the bucket to make sure it is completely empty. Last is it would be nice if they equipped with an aftermarket item a soft sided cab or enclosed removable cab. With the exception of last winter it generally is very cold in North Dakota in the winter. The other thing is my bucket controls could be a little faster. I have a rear backhoe, dirt bucket, material bucket, stump grinder, pallet forks, trencher, home manufactured towing hitch that I use with my Snosport snow plow, and trailer. I have a 35 acre hobby farm in central north Dakota and I would really be lost with out this machine as a matter of fact I would be interested in one of the smaller machines a homeowners series up to 25 hp machine. If any one knows of one available please drop a note.
Pros: Tough, dependable, versatile machine that is easy to work on.
Cons: Cold weather.
